The place was packed and parking lot out side was busy too. We had reservation, so we were OK. the pictures are of what we ordered. I dont remember the names of most of it, so I go by pictures. Mozzarella Salad was OK, but few of the tomatoes were rotten- dont recommend. the dish with steak pieces was very good, boys said the rice was too cheesy, but I liked-recommend. The dish with eggplant and stuff on top was a little dry- dont recommend. Mushroom Ravioli was OK, but a little under-cook- recommend?!!. Chicken Parmesan was a disaster- no taste, no salt- do not recommend. We didnt see the waiter after the food was served to ask for anything (salt, pepper, or Parmesan)- dont recommend at all. I loved my coffee ice cream- highly recommend. Stay away from the Pistachio cheese cake. Nothing Pistachio about it except the green color. There was a flavor of almond there, but no pistachio. To top it off was the siding of Cool whip, and not the real cream. do not recommend. All together, I do NOT recommend this place. May be the $$40 steak, or sea foods would have been better. But our dinner was not good and we will not go back. They really need to shake up if they want to keep the place going. The service was OK for so many people they have to serve. But the staff seemed worried and over worked. we paid close to $180 for 3 of us and expected a little better.

My boyfriend and I were referred here by his car salesman while we were in the area for a purchase. Wow, is all I can say! The food and service were amazing. I had the oysters as an appetizer and the lamb chops as my entrée. My boyfriend had the spicy seafood pasta.Their lamb chops were so good my boyfriend ate half of mine, and we had to order a second entrée of lamb. Seriously, if you are in Springfield, try them out. You won't be disappointed!

We decided to try Vele for our anniversary last night and it did not disappoint! It was the best meal we've ever had in Springfield by far. We ordered the Sea and Smoke whiskey, grilled octopus, lamp lollipops, ribeye, and the tiramisu dessert. Everything was delicious, especially the ribeye! Definitely worth every penny we paid. The service was great too!! We'll definitely be back!

I don’t use 5 stars often but Vele was probably to best restaurant I’ve been to in SPI yet. With a group of 11 so I got to see a lot of dishes. They had an extensive drink list and if you are bourbon drinkers, they bring a smoke box to your table for a few of those cocktails. I’m a Tequila drinker. I started with the squash salad, it was different but very good. Wife had the grilled Caesar, very smoky and I may try grilling romaine in the future. The crab cakes looked amazing. Entree, my choice was the braised short ribs and tagliatelle and a side of polenta. That entree was what the 5 stars are all about. Sauce was rich and meaty. So good. The polenta was delicious. I told the waiter the visit I was going to order off the menu and get shrimp and grits. Wife order the fillet. I didn’t even take a bite because mine was so good. For dessert was the CRAZY tiramisu ball. They poured hot caramel over the top at the table. It was insanely good.

Vele is the best restaurant in Springfield. I went for my birthday and it was amazing! Get the scallops! I also loved the crispy broccolini & the cocktail Mrs. Sherry. I would recommend sitting inside to get the full experience.

This is an old city experience that reminded me of neighborhoods in old east coast cities like Boston or Philadelphia. It's a quiant neighborhood bar and restaurant with the atmosphere of a 90 year old place that hasn't changed very much. Loved it. The steak was delicious, my husband had the filet and I had the NY strip, both were perfect.

Amazing staff, Payne and Dennis are good hosts. Great homemade sauces. The most amazing baked potato I’ve experienced with they homemade garlic sauce. Friendly atmosphere. Good portions. The NY steak I orded was a good price and delicious. The fried cauliflower sent me back to my childhood.

It's like stepping back in time to an era where it wasn't just grabbing a bite to eat but instead it was going out to dinner. It was having an experience where table service meant someone was there to truly take care of you and knowing you were not going to have to ask for another drink because it was already there at the table when you needed it. It was about having white linen tablecloths and real cloth napkins and real heavyweight silverware. It was about having your steak cooked to order and the kitchen having the experience to deliver it as ordered each and every time. It was about a side salad that is properly cold with ample cheese and croutons and dressing. It was about a building with a bar and dining room that created an environment that was large enough to seat a large group but never felt like it was over crowded or too loud to enjoy your own conversations. It was an era where good friends met for good food at good places. Sometimes that era seems so far away but it does still exist. Welcome to the Old Lux!

I took my 2 granddaughters out and we chose Old Lux. We all had ribeyes and all the sides. The steaks were medium rare, medium well and well done, they were all perfect. Dinner was great and the service was great. Did not have to wait for a seat in which the owner seated us. I love the Ole Lux always have and will be going back. I posted some of the food.

This is a great "old" joint with great steaks! The baked potato with Chive cheese was delicious. We had never had that topping before, and we loved it. The staff & owner are fantastic & fun! They are definitely part of why this place is great!

First time I ate their food/ I ordered delivery from here. There must have been an error as this restaurant has good reviews. Someone must have dropped the entire salt shaker or salt pallet into my lasagna. It was so salty - absolutely unpalatable. I threw it away 2 bites and garbage. Horrible experience.

So I came here tonight with my girlfriend and when it came time to order our food we felt a little bit judged on our order by our server. My girlfriend has an eating disorder so she orders weirdly at restaurants. Sometimes we like to go out and not have to order takeout for the reason of her feeling judged. I don’t know if the server was trying to be judgmental or just didn’t realize how he was sounding but I used to be a server myself and for me personally I never let guests feel judged for what they order. I would just recommend to our server to maybe not worry so much about what someone specifically is ordering because you don’t know what people are going through in their life. But food was decent just kinda felt awkward for our time there.

I frequent quite a bit. The downtown location is suffering. Help them out… There is a lady there by the name of Gloria if I remember correctly.. (not sure she had to refund an order for the long wait and the guy she refunded asked for her name.) She is here everytime, but there’s only her and 1 other employee. The last time the last was crying because she said she hasn’t been trained properly.

I got out of line to order from their kiosk, thinking it would be faster. I was informed they have tontake all orders in line first then all doordash...while I'm standing there....in person. REALLY? I was 7 people come in after me order and get their food before I did. DON'T USE THE KIOSK, ITS A TRAP!!

I always have a pleasant experience at this location. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I went in during the busiest time of day with two work colleagues, we all received our sandwiches very promptly, and with no mistakes! Not that I was expecting any mistakes, It's just worth mention as we all know it happens sometimes during crunch time. I will definitely return again!

Worst experience ever. The food was horrible. They advertise the ravioli as Parmesan and marinara only. It’s not it has meat in it. I am unable to eat meat and when I explained to them that I couldn’t eat it I was told there’s nothing they can do. Between the burger my husband was unable to eat and the ravioli we spent 52 dollars on a horrible meal.

It is a limited menu and mostly pretty plain food. Don't get the brussel sprouts. They are steamed and not at all crispy, but if you stick to salads, fish and chips, or chicken strips, you will get a decent meal.

Came back for anniversary dinner and had a great time. The staff were friendly and most of the food was phenomenal. It was just not the place I remembered from 10ish years ago. Pros: Stuffed Mushrooms were exceptional. My wife said the lobster and stuffed shrimp were perfect. The theme and lighting are still romantic, fun and whimsical but... Cons: $30 bacon wrapped filet was perfectly cooked and tasty, but tough and chewy. Benches in the booths have springs that have just given up. Staff all seemed tired and overworked (albeit very cordial). The clientele seemed like I was visiting Long John Silvers, to the point where I felt overdressed in a button down shirt and slacks. Bathrooms out of date with a big pile of paper towels in an undersized can. I felt bad adding to the pile where my towel rolled off and hit the floor, but there was nowhere else to put it. We still had a great night but didn't feel like the experience was worth the $100 we dropped for the experience.

Chesapeake is one of the best places to dine in Springfield, definitely the best on the East side of town. The atmosphere is very inviting, and the "theme" takes you on a bit of a journey out of the area. The service is excellent; you're getting a good taste of the Midwestern hospitality. The food is the highlight, though. Their catfish with a side of cheesy potatoes is highly recommended, and make sure you leave a bit of room for dessert. The cheesecake with strawberries offers the best way to end the meal.

Giving this hotel restaurant a 5 star because of our server Miss Cely. My son and I ordered Springfield's famous Horseshoe sandwich. It was very nice of her to split the sandwich and gave us a plate each without us asking. Her gesture meant a lot to us. Thanks so much, you are very kind. Don't be deceive by its location. The menu is decently priced, inexpensive, and comparable with other restaurant in downtown.
