Last time here was more than 10yrs ago dating my then girlfriend now wife. Still had the same romantic-chill vibes. Nice food with good service from attentive staff. Enjoyed the Caesar's salad & the meatball pasta and 2 sides of light bites - calamari and lemongrass chicken mid wings.

A great little hidden gem in Johor Bahru. Food taste great and free kids meals with RM60 spent. Price hasn’t increased much since the last time we were here pre-Covid19. Very chill and quiet, service was good. Highly recommended!

1. Place has a nice ambience, nice decoration. It is a quiet place for food and photo 2. Service is something you don’t take too highly for this restaurant. They do serve you the food but somehow miss out clearing this and that. As for water, they expect you to pour yourself. However, right beside me they do dor them. 3. Food is somehow average to good. Good for first timers to try fine dining. But not good enough for a return. 4. Price is slightly higher than average. I would say affordable.

10/10..the food is good, the atmosphere is great, the drinks were spot on, the flavours were amazing. My only regret is that a place this beautiful is so far away from where I live. Go, bring your wife or husband, bring that man or woman of your dreams, propose here, laugh, eat, drink and be merry; for this is one of those restaurants you make memories for your future :) PS: my thanks to Archie and Glenn for the amazing service, and the ma'am who's name i've forgotten...but made that Provencale Orange Cake.. It was like a dream come true :)

Today my partner and I visited this place for my partners birthday. We were served by Archie and his service was top notch. He was so attentive and accommodating. The food was great as well. The food they served tasted really authentic and legit French food. I make a booking saying it’s to celebrate my partner’s birthday but I didn’t not mention or ask for anything special. However, the service staff took extra effort to surprise us with ice and chocolate cake, singing happy birthday. Truly a place I will come back and I highly recommend you to check them out! Yum!

We want to find a romantic dinner for our 10 years anniversary and our JB friend recommended the Chez Papa French Bistro and Wine Bar to us. We love the ambience of the restaurant, it's so romantic. We started with SALADE NICOISE, their look is so simple but the taste is so delicious followed by SOUPE à L’OIGNON and SOUPE de TOMATES Crouton et Crème Fraiche. I feel the soup tastes so rich. And we have the 2 main dishes - POULET CORDON BLEU and PÂTES au POISSON FUMÉ. Their taste is amazing and super delicious. Last but not least, we had a surprise from the staff, they gave us a piece of cake with ice cream for our 10 years anniversary. We can tell you guys their service mindset is the same as a 5 star hotel. It makes our 10 years anniversary very very special. We are so lucky to have our 10 years anniversary at Chez Papa French Bistro and Wine Bar. We strongly recommend you to have dinner there.

Made a reservation beforehand for our 2 year wedding anniversary, Chez Papa was very nice in arranging for us a cozy and romantic spot. Food was on point and very reasonably priced. Had escargots and french onion soup for appetizers. Main course was steak au poivre and lamb loins. Steak was nicely cooked at medium rare, lamb loins were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. Dessert was a flambe crepe with fresh orange and lemon juice topped with vanilla ice cream(special shoutout to Archie our main server of the night, attentive and humble). And special shout-out to Azy too who came out with a surprise brownie ice cream with candle and artistic chocolate sauce congratulatory writings. Wine of the night was red, Malbec. It was a perfect night!

Good food and service. The vegetables were very tasty and much better than some other places I've been to. The dim sum skin could have been thinner in my opinion and the dim sum in general was a little more bland that I thought it would be. The char siew was good - tender and flavourful. For the noodles, they had a slight herbal taste and were a little sweet, so I added some soy sauce. Overall, a nice place to dine at!

When visited on 14 September 2023 during lunchtime, there was already a queue formed and the place was packed. However, staff were kind enough to bring the menu and order chit so that food and drinks selection can be made while waiting. Once seated, food and drinks came promptly. Taste wise, the food was good. Overall a pleasant experience.

Went with friends for dinner here as we suddenly have cravings for Chinese food when we are in JB. We ordered yang zhou fried rice, boiled fish with preserved vegetables, scrambled egg with shrimp, chicken cubes and milk tea. Overall, the food is great but we feel the boiled fish with preserved vegetables is very salty. The service is average. Atmosphere was alright as well. But when we were there, a lot of food items were not available. Hope it is just a one time thing.

Went on a Saturday afternoon, fully packed. Ordered roasted duck noodles, zha Leong (Chee Cheong fan with you tiao), porridge with pig intestine. Food is good. Duck remained crispy even in sauce. Overall A little salty, especially the Chee Cheong fan sauce but it has exceeded my expectations. Service is excellent. The manager and a lady staff who served us were pleasant and helpful. Good job. Atmosphere is fine. A little close between tables. Will I go back again: Yes.

One of the go to places for dim sum whenever I visit JB. For this time we had fried carrot cake which was nice and I loved the crunchy bean sprouts which were not soggy. The stir fried 土豆 was nice and is like a Chinese version of a rosti! What was disappointing to me was the chef's recommendation of chee cheong fan with wild mushrooms. The rice flour was rather springy but not as nice as I would have like it to be:) The 香港奶茶 HongKong milk tea was ok lah.

Atmosphere and food is great. Sitting outside if there is cold weather otherwise prefer to dine indoor. Thanks Theresa had rearranged our seat from outdoor to indoor. I am giving all 5 stars because l understand that They are short of manpower. Food came out fast for our dinner and the best is their bread with olive oil 😬 Thanks Tosca team for the birthday cake for my hubby birthday. Only things Disappointed me is mushroom soup sold out at 8pm☹️

I had high hopes for this Italian restaurant due to its stellar reviews, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. To start, the complimentary starter bread was served like a loaf, the bread tasted thin and crispy on the outside and quite fluffy on the inside. The olive dip, although not bad, was noticeably milder compared to what I've savored in other Italian establishments. Even the fries, a dish that's usually foolproof, lacked flavor. However, I did appreciate the fact that they were made from hand-cut potatoes rather than frozen ones, which was a saving grace. The seafood pizza also erred on the side of bland, lacking the aromatic essence of being wood-baked. The seabass, regrettably, had a tough texture and an overpowering fishy taste. On a positive note, the ambiance and service were commendable. A pleasant surprise awaited us at the end of the meal in the form of a complimentary piece of cake. Though it was, regrettably, the most subpar cake I've ever tasted - almost frozen and exceptionally hard - I still value the kind gesture. In summary, the cuisine here falls short of authenticity and leans towards the bland side. If you're in search of an authentic Italian dining experience, I'd recommend giving this one a pass.

Hubby and I dined at Tosca for a double celebration - our 26 years of Wedding Anniversary and my birthday on the same day too. The food was great and the services were equally great too. Our compliments to their chefs Bob, Acai and Tuah and also the 2 servers, Malathy and Fiman/Aman.

We ordered risotto which came slightly undercooked. The tiramisu is the best! The ambience and atmosphere is amazing. I enjoyed celebrating my birthday here. Service is excellent. However, there was a little misunderstanding between the service staffs and the Chinese hostess. Service staff thought that we were dating but hostesses knew that we were celebrating my birthday. Sadly the commotion was a loud enough that both of us could hear. We felt bad for them. I wasn’t expecting any complimentary cakes but I wished that the service staff could have been treated better. They have been so accommodating throughout the entire night. Kudos to them🫶🏽

Good lunch place - it does get quite crowded so better to reach slightly early for lunch. The pork satay and the pork ribs were really good and worth trying. We had cocktails which were decent as well. Dessert was pretty normal.

One of the best places for ribs and burgers. Love the environment here, cozy for casual dining and gathering as well. There’s live band too. Parking would be an issue as it’s just by the main road.

Went on Sunday night for dinner. Redeemed a free burger for birthday. They sent the burger with candle, birthday card & song from live band. The burger taste real good. The patty well marinated & juicy. Pork ribs so so. Love the environment, cosy & relaxing. Service was good & fast. Will return to try other food from their menu. Limited parking space. We parked at hotel 2 shoplots away and paid for RM5. May try to park a road behind the restaurant.

Truly a hidden gem! Accidental discovery, never knew about this place after living in this area for 6 years! The price paid reflects in the great taste and good quality of ingredients used. Entered the place doubtful, but left pleasantly surprised! Will definitely return for more! Can’t wait to bring my family back here again! Tenderloin was amazing (RM130). Garlic bread was nice (RM 9). Appetiser was great (RM50+RM25). Dessert was fantastic! Only the creamy pasta was a little too watery (RM30). Had Erdinger Dunkels and a pot of tea too. Ambience was really nice too! Highly recommended! Yummy! Went back a 2nd time. Steak is still fabulous! Had the escargot gratin today. Yummy! Nachos was a little heavy! So much. But really enjoyed myself

Came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was fairly empty. We ordered capatis with some accompanying dishes and they were cooked deliciously, everything was hearty and so yummy! Parking is available indoor albeit fairly limited. Overall a great place for Indian food!

Fantastic indian food, Immaculate service, extremely warm hospitality. I don't know of any other family restaurant that is serving patrons out of the very own family home they grew up at! Take some time after your meal to look at the photographs and antique items on display and absorb the heritage that is Chakra! P.s. The Mutton Roghan Jhost is splendid.
