Booked a reservation for four for a celebration. The service was wonderful, accommodating, and very friendly! We chose inside because we were worried it would be too hot outside. After it cooled down, we regret not picking outside! The food was phenomenal and you could tell it was authentic Italian. No chicken Alfredo and no spaghetti or meatballs in sight. Note - the portions are on the smaller side so don't hesitate to order more than one main dish or get apps and a salad.

We absolutely love this restaurant. This place has become the place that we go to for all our special occasions and even if we just want to treat ourselves for a nice dinner. As someone who is vegetarian and whose husband is celiac, we appreciate and love the options available for both of us. Some seasonal menus we love more than others, though we have found something we love on each menu. Only once have we tried something that we really did not like and they were very kind and understanding of it. We recommend sitting outside since it's a beautiful garden and a little less cramped than the interior dining. This is THE hidden gem of Davis.

Today was our anniversary and my wife and I were blown away by the vibe and quality of the food. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was rich and flavorful. Il Pollo was fantastic. My kids loved the Mozzarella Fresca and the Rigatoni. Thanks for the recommendation Mateo! The restaurant had a family-friendly atmosphere, and the staff was amazing - they were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about Italian cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine in a family-friendly environment

An absolute gem! I would eat here over and over again, specials were great along with regular menu items. The outdoor seating area is relaxing and beautiful! The Caprese is a must order!!!

I took my wife for her birthday dinner. We have service dog for deaf. They are very friendly. The server is wonderful to us. I often asked server to repeat what she said and she is very happy to do it. We had wonderful dinner. My wife is very happy woman. It was one of her best birthday. We definitely come back again.

Davis, CA. All generations were enjoying the food here tonight. Loved the sweet servers, and ours was the best: Alexia. She was so easygoing and pleasant but sharp eyed, she brought me water without my having to ask for a refill. Fresh, great Californian Mexican food. The refried beans were so fresh and creamy I blinked and my husband had eaten all of his so I didn’t get to try it, just a smidge was left mixed into his lettuce garnish lol. Fresh house made flour tortillas came with my Mexican chicken and rice soup. If you follow me you know that’s what i love to order: Sopa de Pollo. Tres Hermanas’ chicken and rice soup was like what I’ve had elsewhere except the spice level and seasonings were dialed up. It had lots of tender stewed chicken, chicken broth, rice, zucchini, onions, celery, carrots and garlic plus a little tomato base and ground up peppers. Alexia brought me a side of lime wedges and Diablo Sauce. If you like spice try the Diablo Sauce! It took me by the throat and swung me around a couple times. Note that the soup did not have chunks of avocado or fresh onion as a topping but I didn’t miss them here. My husband also had the flautas which were more the size of taquitos. He declined the crema but ate every bit of the guacamole, also the rice. The chips and salsa were also very fresh. The salsa was made with fresh tomatoes blended with cilantro, onion, salt, jalapeños and a bit of raw garlic, very bold. Maybe some lime, maybe not. Really delicious. We’ve been in Florida for 12 years for his job but he grew up in La Habra eating Mexican street food (refried beans in a tortilla cone for 25 cents, etc.) and he’s missed it. Thanks Alexia and Tres Hermanas for a good welcome back visit to California.

I’m giving Tres Hermanos five because they’re a great place in a great location with great food and great people. I do not like junk shrimp. Since they’re a Mexican restaurant, they should have some great Mexican or Gulf of Mexico shrimp. IMHO.

The outdoor patio is comfortable with heaters. Because they are at a corner across from the train station it has a really nice open feeling with lots of space. The service staff of a really friendly and very helpful.

Excellent tasting Mexican food. I especially enjoy the cheese enchiladas with green sauce (a little bit spicy hot). Also great seating outdoors as an added option. Street parking usually within a couple of blocks. Both food and service have been every time I eat here.

The food is extremely presentable and looks phenomenal but is mid at best. The rice was $2 a bowl with no free refills which was a little mind boggling to me. Besides the rice, the prices were not awful. The service was also barely reaching the bare minimum. It did however have a very quiet and calm environment which was nice.

Delicious food, large menu, friendly and attentive staff, and beautiful outdoor seating. My family ordered different plates for family-style dining. My favorite was the stir-fried pork intestines. The cumin flavored lamb was also tasty but too salty for my taste; had to accompany it with lots of rice.

I'm know on Google for my honest reviews, this place has a very nice atmosphere with a lot of windows, the food is a 2 out of 5, its super oily and we got the steak that seems like it was popular and 70% of it was full of fat at literally no meat. I told the person that worked there and he seems like he didn't care and he said its normal. Overall I don't recommend this place but its can be nice for trying it or sharing a food with a friend, cz the atmosphere is very nice.

Last year, we went there every 2 weeks. It has pretty good Chinese food. After summer, we started to live off-campus, so we didn't went there for quite some time. Today we went there, around 7:40PM, and we didn't get our food until 8:20PM. We ordered shrimp beef and 2 dishes of vegetables. There's less than 12 shrimps in that dish; the beef doesn't feel fresh, and it was cold, it feels like it's microwaved; and the vegetables were greasy. Therefore, we decided to not to give tips and we wrote why we didnt want to give tips. We walked out of the restaurant, and the waiter with glasses has the audacity to shout "Don't dine in, just eat take out". Shame on him. Tips is a good way to show gratitude of good service, and I don't appreciate the poor quality of food and service. It's a disappointment and I am never going there again.

First time this location and recommended by one of the local student. Food is cheap and not bad, we ordered three plates and in our opinion the duck and the chicken over rice was the best. The fried noodle have no taste but it was alright. Will give another try in the future but so far, only recommend the rice plate.

We are addicted to their salmon salad! The bib lettuce and light vinaigrette is paired with a perfectly prepared salmon filet. You order and pay at the counter, making it easy for a group to pay individually. Dine outside on their patio for a relaxing breeze!

I ordered the Turkey, Bacon, & Avocado sandwich, which came with avocado, bacon, smoked cheddar, Dijonnaise, mixed greens, and roasted red pepper spread on ciabatta bread. The ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed a cup of latte, which was equally satisfying. *One thing to note is that there's always a queue at the order counter. You'll need to line up to place your order and make payment first. Afterward, the staff will assign you a number, and your food will be delivered to your table. If you're dining with someone else, it's a good idea to have one person order the food while the other finds a table in the restaurant.

I came to meet someone here for brunch, and I was very underwhelmed by the food. I'm not sure how basic breakfast can be messed up, but it was. It seemed like they got the cheapest, thinnest bacon they could find. I was very disappointed because I make better bacon at home and the ham was disgusting. You have to pay upfront before getting your food, so I don't think you can get a refund if you dont like something. The only thing that was decent was the waffle. I dont know if I ordered the wrong thing or what, but my associate and I didn't enjoy the food here.

Really nice place in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by other small local eats. Food was good but we would just recommend the kitchen to cut up in half the cherry tomatoes that are cooked in with the fried rice because if someone is not careful and just takes it whole it can burst flaming hot juice in someone's mouth. Staff was very friendly and the entire experience overall was pleasant.

I've been frequenting Sophia's for almost 20 years. The inside bar, which is separated from the actual restaurant, has a quaint island vibe going on inside. There's also seating on the front patio, nice for larger groups, or for just chilling with a drink and watching the passersby. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I can honestly say I have yet to order any food items that I didn't like. If you like your Thai food a little, or a lot, hotter just let them know. You'll have a nice time here!

I agreed to meet a friend in Davis for a meal. The friend lives in Davis and recommended the restaurant as vegetarian/vegan friendly. This restaurant is about half a block from free public parking in Davis so getting there was not hard as it's close to Richard's and 80. It has outdoor and indoor seating and the setting is interesting as one has to search for the entrance among other shops and restaurants. The food itself was delicious and the service was prompt and courteous. I will return.

Comparing The Mustard Seed restaurant to fast-food joints, I'd generously give it 5 stars, but in the fine dining arena, it's more of a 3-star experience. Our reservation for 7 p.m. was honored without a hitch, and the server was attentive initially. However, this review veers towards the critical side. Our meal began with warm rosemary rolls, a pleasing start. The goat cheese butter was delightful, but the tomato bisque soup left a lot to be desired, being overly sweet and in dire need of salt and pepper. The crab cakes, on the other hand, offered a pleasant burst of flavor. The most significant snag in our evening was the painfully long 45-minute wait for the main course, with no sign of our server for half an hour. This lapse in service was unfortunate and dampened our spirits. When our main courses finally arrived, they were underwhelming. The braised duck leaned towards the saccharine side, and the braised short rib was just plain uninspiring. The accompanying pasta with the short rib was overcooked and rubbery. In our quest to sample the menu, only a couple of side dishes impressed us. The pricing of the dishes left us questioning the value for money, and had gratuity not been included, we would have been hesitant to leave a larger tip. In summary, The Mustard Seed offers very few culinary delights and many disappointments. While it shows promise with its unique offerings and initial service, it falls short in terms of service efficiency and the consistency of its dishes. A solid 3 star rating reflects the overall experience, with room for improvement in various aspects.

Went for Dinner with my wife for dinner, for the starter we ordered crab cakes and a Caesar salad, which both were good. Wine was good, service was good. Dinner was horrible. We both couldn't finish our meals. I ordered the halibut with rice, both were flavorless the halibut seemed like it may have been frozen. For a $50 dish I would expect seasoned, fresh fish. My spouse ordered the pesto prawn pasta and the pesto tasted store bought with an overwhelming amount of lemon. The prawns were rubbery and also the dish as a whole was under seasoned. I would not go back for dinner, especially since the meals were all over priced

The food was fantastic. We had the lamb, duck and short rib pasta main courses and each of them were excellent. The atmosphere is quaint and the service top notch. We sat in the outdoor patio which was very nice, but there were some persistent flies (part of being in Davis).

Yeah. That was pretty great. It's pricey (and glad a good friend's company was picking up the tab), but the food was exceptional, the presentation exceptional, and the service knowledgeable and professional. Would absolutely come back knowing everything from the appetizers to the desserts would be the right temp. Oh.. and for some reason the food nearly came out too quick. There was a wizard in the back that had the timing down perfectly.

Really cozy atmosphere with a cabin-like feel. There can be quite a bit of wait (up to two hours) on weekends so plan accordingly. Has all the classic American foods. The servers are all super nice and accommodating, but during busy times they can get caught up in the chaos so you’ll need to be patient.

I just ordered food from door dash, definitely disappointed with the food. I ordered the Shasta Scramble and I asked for no tomatoes and they put tomatoes, and my potatoes were hard! My husband ordered the grizz, his bacon looked half raw we had to re cook it and his hash browns were saturated in oil. The food had no flavor. My daughters chocolate chip pancakes were burnt and the eggs were so dry!! It was not worth the $70 I spent. Very disappointed. Will not be ordering from here again.

Decent restaurant for a breakfast or brunch, but the dinner here is something you should probably skip. Black Bear is known for their large portions and fun atmosphere when dining in.
