Shout out to Lleyton, our server! Really attentive and polite. Corn beef hash was wonderful. Poached eggs were perfectly runny. Liked having that sweet aspect from the sweet potatoes and balsamic glaze with the savory corn beef. The shrimp and grits were creamy and very delicious. The tomatoes and micro greens gave it a nice fresh kick. One of the eggs on it was poached hard, but still very delicious.

1st time here for brunch, wait time was about 25-30 mins. Plenty of outdoor seating but the benches were in rough shape. I had the burger which was good but didn't care for the seasoned farm potatoes. Cool industrial art!

Feels like you're right at home after a long day with the best comfort meal brought out. Service was so kind, all around the best homey vibes. I particularly loved the care and attention to the jasmine green tea I ordered. Most places give you a mug and a tea bag. This place brought out a steeping pot with loose leafs. Really wonderful touch. This place goes above and beyond with vibes, food, and service. Highly recommend.

Great breakfast spot! My family was in Bend on vacation. We first stopped at trip advisor’s #1 breakfast place but the wait was over 30 minutes on a Wednesday. We decided to keep driving and we were so lucky to just happen upon the black bear diner. Food was great! The server warned us that we might be waiting a little considering that 3 tables just walked in the door. The wait wasn’t too bad. I recommend the blueberry stuffed French toast it was delicious. The iced coffee was good too. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. Thank you for a great breakfast experience during our family vacation in Oregon!

Normally Black Bear Diners are a good place to go. Unfortunately we may of got them on an off day. Came in three weeks ago for dinner. Only two other tables with people when we arrived. After we were sat, we waited 15 minutes for the server to come back. Which he forgot our water and that didn't arrive until after food came out. To be fair, he may have been new and they may have been low on staff cause someone who looked like a manager was running around working hard with a possible large group in a banquet room. Food was alright, but was tough to enjoy with frustration due to lack of service. We sat again for awhile waiting on a check so we could pay but finally had to go flag down the manager to request to pay. Like I mentioned before, we may have just caught them on a bad day, and you may have a better experience than we did.

We had dinner at the Black Bear Diner on a Saturday night in mid June, 2023. I did a review on another Black Bear in southern California. As such I wasn't going to review this Black Bear in Bend, Oregon. But since they were very similar and different at the same time. It was approximately 6PM when we arrived. I was wanting to try the prime rib they have on Friday and Saturdays. They do not list the price, so you must ask. I guess they want to be like Lobster and go with a market price or something. Anyway, we were seated promptly and had a very good server. I couldn't order the prime rib because he informed me that they had already ran out. It seemed early to run out, but it is what it is. The diner itself was pretty quiet with only a few tables including us. So our food came out very quickly. Our dinners were both very good and like last time, we had trouble eating the large portion. It kills me not to be able to take the left overs and enjoy them later. But it's not practical when traveling. The diner was themed in the similar Bear fashion. Although they were different it their on way. The had their own bare spots compared to others. Yeah, that was pretty bad. The decor which went over well the last time, also went over well. As I said, there were differences between franchises. But they stayed pretty close to the bear print. Yes there were plenty of bears both inside and out. And besides having decent food, that's what has the charm of this bear theme. Anyway, the place looked clean anywhere we looked. And even though the wife said the women's room was pretty clean. They were cleaning the restrooms when we left. So I figure that they probably keep them up pretty good. Anyway, the Black Bear was similar in most ways, but a little different to differentiate itself. The food was good even if I didn't get the prime rib.

The prime rib was cold. The manager could be heard telling kitchen staff to put it back in the cooler and not leave it out anymore. Rare meat is a 120 not ice cold. Aujus was room temp at best. The only positive thing about this experience was the stuffed black bear ate with us. Besides that point total nit worth it.

One of our favorite place to go for brunch! Their loaded potato was great. So was slider and pancakes. We went on a Sunday and it was busy. This branch seem understaffed compared to number of customers that day. We got our coffee but there was no silverware or spoon. Only few half n half. We asked for spoon and creamer. But the server got overwhelmed with other things and forgot to bring one. I wish they had wooden stick in their table to mix coffee. Despite small inconvenience, we enjoyed our food.

Fantastic dinner! We shared shrimp, oysters and pea fritters to start. Moved on to a mixed green salad before the main course of stroganoff and prosciutto pizza. All of the items were great. Shrimp snd oysters were very fresh and clean. Fritters we’re probably our least favorite but still good. Pasta and pizza were superb. Chewy crust with a nice crisp and the pasta seemed like house made fresh. Ambiance was very nice, although very loud. We were seated upstairs so I wonder if downstairs might be more quiet. Our waitress was very nice but it felt like she had too many tables to take care of as we only saw her a few times and we’re not checked back in with after our main courses came out. The quality of the food for the value overrode me subtracting a star from the review. Several other items on the menus we’d still like to try. We will definitely go back!

Well this place was beautiful but I feel like my steak came out cold and I know that the one wine out of the three we tried wasn’t the one we ordered. Also the service wasn’t on par for a place like this. It’s a learning experience so I don’t think we will be back. Our bill was $196 so we paid and went home. Again my opinion

The wine was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful, friendly and very attentive. We sat up at the bar which had a great vibe and stayed for about 2 hours. We had the fried green beans, the warm kale salad, deviled eggs and a couple of oysters and ate everything. Super delish and will definitely be back.

Bar Rio is my new favorite spot in town! All the things that were loved from the old Barrio, but with a new elevated twist. The tapas menu is perfect for a few bites on a date night or even to share a bunch with a group. The staff is super welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and makes you feel at home. You can tell there’s a lot of love and care being put into every cocktail and dish that’s being served. There’s a nice outdoor lounge out back that’s perfect on a sunny day or even to cool down in the evening. The interior is beautifully curated and compliments the whole vibe of the place. I’m excited to have a new cocktail bar in Bend!

So excited the new Bar Rio is finally open!! I was thrilled to see paella still on the menu. It was even more delicious than I remembered. The cocktails are also amazing. The spicy chavurah and the frozen limoncillo were spot on. The interior decor is BEAUTIFUL!!! Live edge wood bar, exotic tiles, and warm lighting are a few highlights. I highly recommend stopping by for some cocktails and tapas.

Popular place so be prepared to put your name down and walk around until you get a text. Interesting fusion of Mexican and Spanish food with both tacos and paealla (or however you spell it). The mezcal pineapple cocktail was delicious and topped with boozy pineapple. The guacamole corn taco could have used more kick to it but not bad as a veggie option. Would come again but I've also had better.

Both ladies were friendly, got our tables together quickly, and gave amazing service during our lunch. I never write reviews but I definitely felt like this place was worth mentioning. I came in for lunch on a Thursday. I was greeted right away and given my choice of table. The chairs are extremely comfortable. Service was fantastic, the staff was very knowledgeable and prompt. I ordered a salad and cocktail, the cocktail came out within minutes and the salad shortly after, both were amazing!! And they definitely didn't water down the cocktail or give me mostly juice. I will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I had a amazing breakfast there I had the prime rib. It was perfect. And my wife had the crab Benedict and it was amazing so would highly recommend this place for breakfast. I haven’t tried lunch yet.

I have to say I was really excited about going here for the first time. I went with a friend today and our waitress was absolutely wonderful. The only reason I gave a four-star review was because we ordered the crab eggs. Benedict and I specifically said that I wanted to eggs medium, not runny at all. So when I got it, the eggs were totally runny, exactly like my friends eggs who didn’t ask for anything to be changed with her poached eggs, so I was totally disappointed about that. I also did not eat any of the hashbrowns they were burnt and the top was like a hard layer. I feel they should have asked why none of the hash browns were eaten. We did sit outside, and that was very nice and the waitress was very accommodating and got our drinks for us which were excellent, but in my opinion, especially the short drink was strong but pricey for the size. The atmosphere inside was very pretty and well designed, but I have to say, I was disappointed a little bit.

Owner treats other people awfully regardless of if they’re her own employees or customers. I ordered my usual salad & ended up getting the wrong dressing. I called back & asked if I can get a replacement, owner abruptly said no & hung up right after. Did not get an explanation or even a compromise with a discount. I’m fairly understanding but my to go order over the phone in the past I still had more questions on and she hung up on me mid sentence. Last time I called right back to ask her to not do that, clearly she hasn’t cared to learn. Demonstrates poor leadership & business management skills. Whenever I came in she would talk about how she can’t keep staffing & how it’s always her. I wonder why. There are hundreds of other all around great bend restaurants to support, this is just not one that fits in the category. Do not support her.

We had a wonderful dinner. The tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly. We had the tills oil cheddar Mac and sheers along with the polenta fries for a starter and they were away. The bacon cheese burger with the truffle fries were delicious. The drinks per prepared and presented perfectly. Our only thing was the mashed potatoes were overly salted, though the consistency was great. We cannot wait to come back to bend and visit again.

A lovely spot with lots of charm! I really liked the look of the restaurant. Nice and dark with an old school feel. Our server was friendly and helpful. We ordered the prime rib, unfortunately, it was not cooked properly so it was very tough and seemed to be either undercooked or cooked at the wrong temperature. The baked potato was very tasty and the drinks are quite good. Great location right in downtown Bend.

I have had a meal at this establishment that was the pinicle of excellence. However inconsistency doesn’t not favor. The most import experience of note is the consistent willingness to serve too self wine at Luke warm temperatures while the whole of the industry demands a standard of temperature that the black smith doesn’t comply with with. Warm wine is their mode of operations. 3 out of 5 is my review. It would be higher if they took greater care of making sure their wine was temperature like every other high end restaurant.

One of the BEST steaks I've ever had, incredibly succulent and juicy meat with delicious crispy fries. Some of the best chimichurri I've ever had! I was totally blown away by the quality of the experience. The drinks were a little expensive, but worth it! I'm still thinking about that steak I had a week later! I don't know what miracle ranch this beef comes from but it was in an echelon all it's own, and for a reasonable price! I genuinely couldn't recommend this restaurant enough, the parking was easy, the staff were friendly, and I didn't have to wait long at all for my meal. The bread and vinaigrette were fantastic as well!

Unique, fresh, high quality fare with a scenic view of the Deschutes River. Large selection of adult beverages on tap with a full bar. Highlights: Humus plate with large, colorful vegetables, two varieties of fresh and savory humus (the red was my favorite), and fresh pita bread. Arugula and beet salad. Red and golden beets over the most delicious and attractive arugula I've seen in some time. Pork medallions (more like pork saucers 😳) over blue cheese new potatoes served with cabbage and bacon... So tasty!

My father-in-law wanted to eat his birthday dinner here. There were lots of great and unique choices from elk and duck to bison and beef. This place has a cool atmosphere and they were definitely busy when we were there. The service was a bit slow. The food was really good. It is not a place I could afford to go to often as it was $60+ for a steak.

It’s pricey for how much you actually get but the taste is awesome. I can afford it but for others might not. The server was super nice. Passing thru. If we need to stay again, here it will be. I had to sign a paper that I would not smoke. But you walk the halls and the upper rooms stank SO bad of weed. It’s ok to smoke weed but not cigs? The stank is WORSE. I don’t do either one but it not right. I have to suffer the smell.

I recommend it! We booked a table online to be sure we had a spot. We were worried about the traffic and being a couple of minutes late, it was also a Friday afternoon in the summer. We had hoped to get a 5PM table for 6 of us but they only had a 4:45pm and then another table at 8 or so. When we got there it was dead.. no problem sitting outside or inside.. they wouldn’t have complained. Drinks were solid. Highly recommend the Moscow mule.. I tried their variation of a French 75.. wasn’t my favorite but not bad. Service was very friendly and accurate. Food was good, no complaints from the kids. Yummy steak and veggies. Bathrooms were clean. Ambiance was good! Right on the water. Would recommend for a dinner in Bend. Will return.
