Ate at the bar and enjoyed chips, quac, a selection of 7 salsas, multiple margaritas, mushroom tacos, fish tacos and the smoked black cod appetizer. Service was great, drinks were on point and food was fresh & tasty! As noted by many other reviewers, it’s very noisy inside. If you want to have a decent conversation expect to yell. But it’s a fun, lively atmosphere and the food this is good.

Was my first visit to this Mexican restaurant in NYC and it was a delightful culinary experience. Particularly impressed with the starter - guacamole, chips and the seven salsa dips. It was certainly a big hit with our group. The salsas were at varying degree of hotness and each was distinctively different from the other - a great experience. Also the "avocado" dessert which is a must have. The halibut I had was somewhat bland but combined with other savory stuff, it provided a balanced experience. Will highly recommend this place if one is looking for Mexican fare in midtown NYC.

Came here for lunch at 2pm on a Friday. Food was good and the service was decent. First time having nachos with crab meat and uni! Usual pairing but it works. The tacos come in two's. The Brussels sprouts were well done too.

Had an extensive meal here for dinner and I have to say you definitely get your money’s worth here. Food is not just tasty but inventive and unique as well, especially their ice cream tacos. Service is prompt and friendly, and the wine offerings are decent too.

Upscale place at Madison Ave with Chef's Mexican fantasia that will leave with a mesmerizing experience. Their Guacamole with seven salsa servings ( ranging from mild to spicier) is must recommended. Green Chili Shishito Peppers, Queso Fundido, Tuna Tartare are other good options. Decent cocktails options though limited non alcoholic mocktails, out of which the Apricot is the best. They do Tuesdays Taco if you want to visit the place during specials 😀 Pumpkin Seed Cappelletti is slightly greasy, however it sets a nice taste on your bud. The Tacos and Mains are generally good for two people as the quantity is sufficient.

Still, the menu also contributes very positively: its classic local elements are finely tuned to bring their "common" tastes to excellence (pancakes in particular). Comes at a (reasonably expected) high price. Worth a shot!

Are there no good restaurants in midtown? HAS. This is an Asian kitchen hidden downstairs. There's everything from ramen to sushi, from fried rice to chicken. Although the menu is extensive, the taste is above average. I liked the interior of the place and the service, we can say that the food was above average.

One of our favourite restaurants in NYC!!!! The quality of everything was amazing and the selection of food was perfect for an izakaya restaurant. Between 2 people, we would recommend 3 items because portions were quite large. The only thing to note is the music was quite loud so you have to yell to chat. Overall highly highly recommend!

We ordered many dishes and drinks, most of them were good except for the beef tongue. Price was reasonable. The only problem was that the restaurant is too popular so there are always people waiting outside for a table. Waiters are so busy taking away empty plates and clean your table ahead of time, which makes you feel clock counting down. I would comeback for a quick meal. But if I want to enjoy a good drinking and chatting time with friends I would go to a less popular restaurant.

Great go to lunch or dinner spot in midtown. Service is fast and food is delicious! Excellent for sharing with a group. It gets super packed and loud inside so suggest coming early or on the later side of service to avoid crowds. Or suggest making a reservation if you can to avoid long wait time.

Good food for the price. This is a casual restaurant with shareable items. Would recommend getting a reservation as the wait times can be long for dining. In terms of the cooked dishes, I particularly enjoyed the Omu Soba and Geso Kara (deep fried squid). The Tako Wasa was also delicious (raw octopus). However, the other seafood dishes didn’t impress me that much. The Salmon Tataki tasted quite ordinary and a little bland. The Sashimi Moriawase was also okay. In terms of dessert, the Tiramisu and Basque Cheesecake were good. I found that the Tiramisu lacked the coffee flavour and mainly tasted like cream. The cheesecake was delicious though! Overall, I think restaurants like Nonono and Her Name is Han serve higher quality shareable dishes. If you’re looking for a more casual spot to dine, this can be the right soot for you!

Amazing food and experience! We came here for my birthday on a NYC girls trip and we had the best time. The food was delicious, the restaurant is gorgeous, and the service was amazing. If I were to get nit picky I would say that our waiter seemed a bit judgy, and made some passive aggressive comments about our choices but to be fair it was our first fine dining experience and we had no clue what we were doing. I would definitely come back.

It's a beautifully decorated place. I was surprised the restaurant is French cuisine, although it was more of a sway to vegetables, not much French influence in my opinion. The food was OK, but expectations were well beyond what I tasted. There was a bit of a language barrier in the presentation of dishes, which was a big miss. The place is warm and feels comfortable. One time visit only is ok, but there are others to try first.

Went here for lunch. The service is great! The bathrooms are very interesting. Unisexed. We had two of the non alcoholic cocktails. They both were very good. The bread is amazing. The one with cheese is so so good and I don’t even like cheese. It is both crispy and so airy and light. One of the best breads that I’ve ever had. We had scallops and tuna for appetizer. The scallops were amazing. So tender. The tuna we opted for the caviar and it was really good too. But if you add too much of the caviar, it is a little on the salty side. I had the lobster roll for entree and it was cooked to perfection. So flavorful and tender. This the the perfect lobster roll. The toasted bread that the lobster is in was amazing as well. Chips that came with it was ok. My wife had the chicken. I didn’t expect it to be a big deep fried piece of chicken breast. But the chicken was both juicy and full of flavor. The best deep fried chicken I’ve ever had. Wasn’t expecting this comfort food I a high end French restaurant. We got the dark chocolate dessert. Couldn’t finish it because we were so full. It was pretty good as well. Disappointed that they don’t have the butterfly dessert during lunch. Which only means we have to go back for dinner. Highly recommended.

The Modern is a great dining experience and a fantastic way to break up the day when visiting MOMA. I went for lunch in the dining room and had the 4 course menu. It included the 4 courses plus the bread. Each course was delicious in its own way, but the famous eggs on eggs on eggs really stood out. The extra brioche is a nice tough too cause you'll certainly want more. They have an extensive wine and cocktail list, and I was very happy with the affordability of the whole experience given how they have 2 stars. Service was attentive and never felt rushed. I was dining solo, so the extra little chit chat with me from the staff is always welcome (but never expected). My only disappointment was when leaving, I didn't want to subtract a star from this since it was outside the dining experience, but I wasn't let back into the museum. I called a few days earlier and asked if I could reenter from the restaurant and they said yes as long as you show your ticket. I had my ticket out but was told I need to go outside and reenter through the main entrance. Well unfortunately it was pouring and the line was quite long. Just be aware that if you're dining you probably won't be let back into the museum.

BEST meal of my life!!!! I wish I could give this 6 stars because I truly fell in love with every dish. I am shocked why this 2 star Michelin restaurant doesn't have its third but I'm rooting for it. When you first walk in, the restaurant is split into an energetic, lively, casual dining area and then further back there's a more upscale, quieter area with a gorgeous view of the MoMa. My husband and I did the tasting menu and honestly every dish was fantastic and it's so hard to pick a favorite. I'd have to say the lobster and steak dishes were my favorites and then the chocolate dessert was incredible. Do not forget to have the whole grain sourdough bread that is crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside with the most incredible butter. We each got 3 pieces because it was the best. And with that, our service was so perfect. Our waiter chatted with us after every entree and got genuinely excited for us after each dish. My waitress also recommended the amazing Guajillo cocktail- it had a great kick and it’s a little creamy! I've already told my friends it's the best fancy restaurant we've been to so we cannot wait to come back.

We order the frie chicken and was too sweet. The French fries were really good, crunchy. But not worth the price. All the dishes were very small. The peppers, artichoke salad has only 1 artichoke. The pumpkin with pork belly was tasty. The best was the dessert, chocolate and passion fruit.

It was undoubtedly the best fine dining experience I have had at a 2-Star Michelin restaurant. The service was flawless and matched the class of the food/venue.

Had my birthday lunch at the kitchen table with a friend and it was one of the most fun dining experiences we’ve ever had. Each dish was outstanding and was served by one of the chefs who prepared it, all of whom were warm and eager to talk to us about the kitchen, their process, and what we were up to. It’s also the most expensive meal I’ve ever had. Like wow pricey, but hey, it’s a once in a long time thing and this was our pick for a Michelin Star restaurant experience during our visit to the city. We’re happy we picked The Modern, it was worth it.

Food is very creative. Plating is excellent and unique. The servers and employees are very well trained. Atmosphere is very much fitting. Bathroom really looks nice. I like the open kitchen concept. B.U.T. Food is strongly seasoned (too salty) and smaller portion of each dishes reminds how salty each dishes are. I am a Korean by background so I have had "real things" that they are trying to recreate in each dishes. It is unique. I give you that. But I have had it better. I do not regret going here but I personally do not think I would be a frequent patron. But this might be because I am a Korean and grew up eating many awesome Korean dishes. If I am a stranger to Korean cuisine, this would not be a bad introduction. I hope it makes sense

What a phenomenal experience! I would certainly love to go back. The meal and experience were a lot of fun. The dishes of the tasting menu were delicious, flavorful, and fun, featuring seasonal ingredients. I'm not big fan of Korean food but this place is exceptional. It’s at the same time faithful to Korean cuisine while being highly creative and inventive.

Kochi in New York has gone up on my list as the best meal I've ever had. The restaurant is quite small, but the outdoor section obviously helps. They have a bar with the possibility of eating there too, but we sat at a regular table. Food was simply amazing with each new bite giving that "wow" hitting my smile and opening my eyes. I still think about Kochi, even as I write this review now. Service was also good, as expected of a Michelin. The atmosphere was also really good, albeit a tad too loud. That's because the restaurant is small which also sets the tone, but the volume made it a bit loud. TLDR: 11/10 - wow

Great place for delicious food and drinks. I waited at the bar while my friend was on her way and got a Opium cocktail. It was fantastic with a great blend of flavors and not too sweet. Bartender was super nice and attentive. Also got the Ahumada and really enjoyed the mezcal and pomegranate combo. Amazing cocktails! For apps we got the steamed shrimp wontons and papas rellenas. Both and amazing flavors and textures. Shrimp was fresh and the Cuban beef was seasoned well. For entree I got the ropa vieja noodles. The brisket was delicious and the noodles were cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared the chilled dulce de leche souffle. Super light, fluffy, and mild. The mango coulis added a nice fruity element to the dessert. Great way to end the meal. I was super excited to try the Cuban and Chinese fusion and am pleased to see it was as delicious as I expected. Will be back again. Staff was all friendly and food came out at a nice pace.

Cuban - Chinese!! The concept itself interested me a lot and do we checked out this place when we were in that area. The food and the ambience is excellent. Very casual vibe and the service is great! We got a couple of drinks to start and duck bao and dumplings as appetizers. For main course we got the burger, Cuban fried rice and the salmon. Everything was delicious. We had no room for dessert. We came out super content and satisfied after that lunch.

The service was good. The staff are very attentive and really good at reading what we needed. The service staff was great. I absolutely love the black rice seafood paella, the rice has a great texture and the dish is flavorful without being too wet. The lobster and XO noodles dish was ok; the dish tasted pretty good over all, but the flavors were not particularly unique, and it is very expensive for a dish that only serves half a lobster and an average portion of noodles. The ceviche had a really deliciously novel and unique flavors, but there were very few bits of fish and shrimp and mostly filled with bell pepper slices. The bell peppers looked aesthetically pleasing on the ceviche, but detracted from the taste of the dish and is clearly a filler ingredient to hide the fact that the dish had very little meat. Overall 2/3 were disappointing and only 1/3 hit the home run. We were seated at a table near the front and close to the bar where it was pretty quiet. After dining, I walked to the back room and saw that it was a lot more atmospheric with good music, conversations, and much better lighting than where we were seated. I wonder why the hostess did not give us an option to pick where we wanted to sit at the beginning since only half the tables in the back were occupied. Honestly, I would give this place another chance, but my first experience here was a bit disappointing. 3/5 is where I stand right now.

Love the ambiance. Love the service (Justin was amazing). Love the cocktails. Wish I could say the same about the food. - Chicken empanadas were dry AF. - Cuban Sandwich Spring Rolls looked great on the menu. However, they tasted like someone stuffed them with a mushy ropa vieja. Crust was properly crunchy and greasy, and the mustard sauce was surprisingly delicious. Stuffing was just too bland and pappy. - Bianpao Salmon was overcooked which rendered it too dry and flaky. - Ropa Vieja Noodles were absolutely delicious. The same stuff that was used for spring rolls actually worked here magically with noodles and sauce. This dish was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Chilled Dulce De Leche Soufflé was spectacular. Not overly sweet, soft and mangoey. A strong ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall, the service, ambiance and 2 very solid dishes are definitely a reason to revisit. Hopefully, they can improve other items. The foundation is definitely there.
