The music. The atmosphere. The servers were EXCEPTIONAL. everyone was clapping, dancing in their seats, and having the time of their lives. And we went on a Sunday night. We stumbled upon it by accident and are so glad we did. Food was good! Better than expected for a bar.

The music was great! My salmon plate, however, wasn’t that great. Very basic vegetables & salmon with plain white rice. It definitely wasn’t worth paying $20+ for, and the portion was so small that I was still hungry and ate again at home. The service was super slow but the waitresses really did their best to make everyone happy and I appreciated it 😊 still a must visit!

Wonderful place to enjoy jazz music and delicious food. I absolutely loved the jazz theme of the restaurant as well! Staff were friendly and strict with overflow when needed. The menus and decor were delightful to look at! Great place to check out the jazz scene.

Everything was great. Went for a jazz duo on a Thursday. Food wasn’t what we anticipated but it was delicious nonetheless. Got the “Salmon Risotto” and although their menu does say risotto, they just mean rice. Regardless, was still very good. I got the gin martini, which was very very good. My husband got the bourbon smash which was also delicious ( I even thought so and I don’t drink bourbon).

Great service. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Food was fantastic. We heard the Jazz students from McGill. All of the bands put on great shows. You definitely need to make reservations. It was packed. There’s no room for walk-ins. Leave a message; they really do call you back. The tacos were great! Oh and I don’t know what they made their fries from, but they were delicious.

I enjoyed the event but not the bartender in the back. When i asked him the cost of a bourbon he said $10, then tried to charge me $16. He said it was because the menu prices were wrong, even though I explicitly asked him the price. Won't be getting anymore drinks there unfortunately. Too bad he had to pour that whiskey down the drain. It pays to be honest.

It's a nice place with a big terrace. All we need in this weather. Salmon tartare was excellent. The texture, flavors, everything was amazing. Salad had way too much dressing. Burger was tasty. Fries too oily and soggy. Overall it was a very pleasant experience - thank you for your kind service!

We went to this place mainly for a quick bite and were not disappointed! The dishes were not too small given their affordable pricing. The flavors were great! The music inside was very loud but the vibes were great, we sat outside, so we were able to chat and enjoy our food. I recommend this place for sure!

Decent spot for a quick bite on the very popular Crescent Street. The athmosphere is good, as expected in one of the busier streets of Montreal and the seating is pretty big for a group. The food is quite affordable, but the taste suffers a bit as a result. The drinks are also pretty cheap which makes this a good chilling spot but not the best restaurant.

I think I'd have to come back to try something else but the poke bowl just didn't do it for me- I was really excited about it but it fell flat. It was also a very tiny portion. The prices here are really good but I would probably only come back to sit on the patio and to get something else. If you're really hungry I'd recommend ordering two items. The server was nice but one of our friends orders took a lot longer to get to our table and we all finished eating before she got her food.

I decided last minute to run in here and try the Fish & Chips and was surprised at the really delicious flavor it had. I do see some reviews saying it was burnt, which I can understand but I personally like it extra crispy so everything was good to me. Service was very nice and I was able to watch the Friday night football game. Got to meet a cute dog in the bar too very nice

Highly recommend: Samantha being an effective server made our visit a joy to be there. Gotta view the huge mural with John Lennon being a spiritual leader. We had lasagna and fish chips. The Greek Salad was excellent as well as the fish. They had singer for music background. Their Windows were opened for fresh breeze. Samantha deserves a pay raise

I had a great experience at St. Paul Pub in Montreal. The location was fantastic, offering a picturesque view of the Ferris wheel. The music and ambiance were just right, creating a pleasant atmosphere. I couldn't resist trying the nachos with cheese, and they were superb. However, one aspect that left me a bit disappointed was when the server added the tip to the bill without my consent, which I didn't appreciate. Overall, it was a great visit, but the server's tip handling was a minor hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Really liked the rock n roll themed bar. Stopped in for drinks on a 90 degree day and were greeted by friendly service and well made daquiries. Try the poutine and a Steelman's Lager. It is a slight stair climb but totally worth it.

Came here with a small group around midnight. Had to order drinks at the bar which is fine, however there were only 2 bartenders. One spent 10 minutes flirting with a customer while the other one was working. The bartender who was working was condescending, and cancelled a transaction to force a tip on a pitcher of beer despite no service and a long wait time. The beer didn’t taste like how it normally should, and was sour and flat. Rustic atmosphere wasn’t kept clean so it felt run down. Also suspicious activity was just happening out in the open with someone dropping off a backpack. Just really weird vibes paired with poor night service. The pub wasn’t even that busy (20% capacity). Won’t be coming here on my next visit to this city.

Starting with the pros, this restaurant is decorated beautifully. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I do not usually like diner coffee but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee here. However, the food was very underwhelming. It lacked flavour and we had to ask for salt, syrup, ketchup and any other fix-ins which we would’ve needed. Although, the bottomless mimosas are definitely a plus!

This restaurant is right across from the church of Notre Dame. We came here for dinner one night. It is located in the hotel de armas. The lighting in the restaurant was very cozy and romantic. It wasn’t loud and you can have a conversation comfortably. We had a nice time. We ordered the bread as an appetizer and I got a Ma Dulcinee cocktail. For dinner I ordered the filet mignon and a parsnip soup. The filet mignon was one of the best I have had! The parsnip soup was full of flavor and nice and smooth. The mashed potatoes were also good and soaked in the juices from the steak. We had a great experience and I would recommend this place to you!

I was underwhelmed by the food. Although it looked pretty, it lacked in terms of taste. We got the steak, salmon, lava cake and Paris breast. The steak was ok, the sweet potato fries were the best and the salad was barely existing. The salmon dish had not once grain of salt on the entire dish. Not on the fish, not of the veggies and not in the sauce. For the dessert, I wouldn't call that a Paris Brest... It should be a hazelnut (except for the two halves on the plate) filling not a chocolate one. The choux was hard almost like the crust of a baguette. The lava cake was melting in the inside and rich and chocolaty. Overall, beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location but the food is not worth it.

By far my favourite restaurant in Montréal! Not only is the aesthetic and food on point, but the location is ideal for a touristy day of exploring the city. The service is amazing too so be sure to book a reservation. They can seat walkins but it’s always so busy better to be safe than sorry. They used to have a bottomless mimosa brunch and that would be my only complaint. Whoever made the decision to take that option away is a criminal.

This is an amazing bar with rooftop patio in one of the prime locations on cresant street. Went for drinks and lunch with a group of friends and liked their food drinks and food. I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting this "Night Club" and I have to say, it was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this was not going to be an enjoyable night. First and foremost, the atmosphere was incredibly lackluster. The club itself felt cramped and overcrowded, with barely enough space to move around comfortably. The dim lighting only added to the gloomy ambiance, making it difficult to see and enjoy my surroundings. The music selection was another letdown. Instead of a diverse range of genres and hits that one would expect from a night club, the DJ seemed to be stuck on repeat with the same monotonous beats and uninspired remixes. It felt like an endless loop of mundane tracks, making it impossible to get into the groove or even enjoy the dance floor. Furthermore, the service was subpar at best. The staff appeared disinterested and unresponsive, showing little to no enthusiasm in providing quality customer service. It was almost as if they were just going through the motions, without genuinely caring about the patrons' experience. The long queues at the bar and the unprofessional behavior of the bartenders only added to the overall negative impression I had .

Nachos: basic but good Rice: super gooooood Tortelini: creamy, filling, not particularly special but good Calamari: gets soggy really fast. The red sauce is literally red sugar. Fried cauliflowers: interesting dish. A bit expensive. Koolaid cocktail: SO GOOD, like a melted pink mister freeze. As an person thay doesnt like the taste of alcohol, I highly recommend. Make sure you mix well! A but pricey to my taste, but great service!

Saturday night in Montreal in the Old Port area is busy. Had a group of eight of us and when we saw the restaurant was packed we were worried. We had a reservation, however I marvelled at how efficient the servers were. Water, wine order, bread and food all delivered promptly. This restaurant also had live Jazz performance on the weekend which added to the ambience. Food was delicious and experience was worth the investment . Highly recommend this restaurant.

The rack of lamb was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone going here. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The waiter was kind enough to heed our odd request to split the bill across 4 credit cards. I never felt like we were waiting for the staff. They just magically appeared the moment we were just thinking about needing them. Not intrusive, excellent timing.

There is always a line up in front of Modavie and people looking disappointed leaving early from Modavie for a good reason -- they are really good with their food and the dining experience is superb! We visited here on our trip to Montreal. Of course, we could not get a table on the first night so we made a reservation for next evening to be sure to get a table. We tried their Rack of Lamb, Lamb Chops, Beef Tartare, Beef Bone Marrow, and Salmon Tartare. Every dish was meticulously prepared with French perfection. The taste was great without being too spicy or salty. The lamb was prepared in a very tender fashion with just enough spices to rid the gamy flavour of the lamb. Our waiter Jan guided us through making all the right choices and was very attentive throughout the evening. It was the highlight of our visit to Montreal for sure! We highly recommend Modavie for your Montreal dining experience but be sure to make a reservation.

A wonderful experience! The service was prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. The food was exceptional. The two of us shared the fried octopus and Caesar salad, then each had filet mignon and lamb chop respectively for our main course. Finished it off with the profiterole dessert. While we ate, a lovely jazz trio played in the background to top off the night!

Semi formal environment; great occasion for anyone from dates, hangs, or just a beer. Food met the expectations and prepared a near perfect steak. The strip loin was slightly undercooked in some spots and a touch too much pepper, but didn’t take away from the overall positive taste. Drinks were generous and flavorful. Our server put his best foot forward and successfully assisted us with recommendations with minimal knowledge of our preferences. His presence was not overbearing and not absent. I did think the music was a touch loud for my taste. Although we were in the room of the live music.
