Amazing service, amazing food. This restaurant should be have at least 1 michelin star. The quality of the food, the attention to detail is unparalled. Would definitely recommend and come on an empty stomach. This is also good for vegetarians as they are accomodative.

It is a fine dining place with a tasting menu. The gastronomical experience was spread over nine courses and the desserts service. The food quantity was good however some of the courses could have been better. The service was impeccable and the server explained each course well. Since I am not a big fan of oxtail, the kitchen changed the course to lamb and chicken. Even though the dish was not the best, I appreciated the willingness of the chef to make the last minute change for me. The desserts were nice. Overall, a one time visit restaurant for the experience. I will not come back again.

A 5-star dining experience. A full 3 hours of culinary delight. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Each dish of the tasting menu was explained well and the flavors are combinations you likely won't get anywhere else. The cocktails are also quite nice. I was surprised that the lighting in here was not dimmer but appreciated that I could really see each dish since there were such thorough explanations. While this meal was more expensive than I anticipated (over $200 per person before beverages), I did find the experience and food to be worth it. Special occasion only for sure but nonetheless no regrets.

Some of the dishes were delicious and other ones I didn’t like as much. My favorites were the starters, the chicken, and the dessert. The duck and the make your own taco (minus the chip) was pretty disappointing to me. I wouldn’t come again but it was overall worth the experience.

Located in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City, Quintonil was ranked as the 9th best restaurant in the world in 2023. Their seasonal tasting menu features modern twists on traditional Mexican dishes and flavors. I had their Autumn Menu (prix fixe) and sat at the kitchen bar, which gives you a front row seat to all the food prep magic happening in the kitchen. Overall, the food was solid. Service was top notch. The restaurant decor was simple, contemporary, bright, and welcoming. I didn't think the experience justified the price tag though, and prefer Pujol just slightly over Quintonil. The menu was as follows: 1) Butternut squash and tomatoes salad, rice horchata and pumpkin seeds. This dish was a great opener - extremely fresh and refreshing on the palate. The crispness of the squash paired wonderfully with the creamy tartness of the yogurt. 2) Sardines in tomato sauce with purslane, white balsamic vinegar and pomegranate. I wasn't a fan of the strong fishiness of the sardines. 3) Stone crab in pipián verde with sunflower seeds, makrut lime and Thai basil, blue corn tostadas. This dish was delicious. The sauce had a spicy salad kick to it that added another wonderful layer to each bite. 4) Charred avocado tartare with escamoles, mexican herb chips. This dish was okay. The presentation was beautiful but the flavor was pretty straightforward: charred avocados. 5) Striped bass barbacoa in adobo de chapulín, grilled green beans and cauliflower cream with plankton. The subtle smoky chat of the fish was great. The skin was nice and crispy. A full flavored seafood dish. 6) Braised oxtail in recado negro panucho, almond purée, red onion. One of my favorites from the menu. Laden with flavor and chili heat, this fancy take on the street taco was delicious. I wanted seconds. 7) Cactus paddle sorbet topped with corn husk ash - so refreshing! 8) Crème fraîche and melipona bee honey, physalis, caviar - this was fantastic. The crème fraîche was so smooth and creamy, and it paired beautifully with the salty brine of the caviar. 9) Mexican cornbread with rompope de nixtamal, Cuetzalan vanilla and passion fruit. A dessert form of Mexican corn bread, with a touch of corn liquor in the middle. This was more savory than sweet but I liked it though. 10) Mamey fruit panna cotta tartelette, pixtle cream and finger lime. 11) Tacho chocolate parfait, raspberry, olive and black garlic

The best meal I had in Mexico City. The setting is beautiful and the food is superb. Highly recommend the kampachi and sweet onion dip starters. The tagliatelle and ravioli pastas were wonderful. The beek cheeks so tender. Out of this world delicious. If you are able to get a reservation here, please do. You won't regret it.

I was so excited to try the tasting menu with wine pairing at Maximo when visiting CDMX for the first time in September. I left feeling disappointed. The ambience was perfect. Several of the dishes were delicious - ceviche tostada, gnocchi, steak, sorbet cones, some were confusing - ash & goat cheese dip, a stuffed chicken wing in dashi broth that was barely a nibble - and overall the menu seemed to lack cohesion, with a bold cheese ciurse in the middle followed by two ice cream type of desserts at the end. The cocktails and wines from all over the world were delicious. When I asked to try more Mexican brands the wine steward happily obliged and it was also delicious. We were seated at a table twice the size of our party and after cocktails, the lengthy tasting menu, and after dinner drinks, we were asked to move tables in order to seat a larger party. We decided to leave. We went all in for the experience but i left disappointed. Spent about 5100 pesos per person

This place came highly recommended from several friends. We couldn't get a reservation so put our name down around 130pm. The wait was 1.5hrs. When we got back, we waited a while longer before we got seated. Be prepared to wait a while if you dont have a reservation. It was very busy with a bunch of people waitinf on the side walk. The ceviche and cocktail combo dishes were the highlights of this lunch. I enjoyed the whole fish as well but it was a bit bland. Their hot sauces were very delicious the habanero one is hot and flavorful and kept burning. We made soft shell crab tacos from the soft shell crab. Everything was well done and solid here. Is it the best seafood restaurant I've ever had? No. The food was decent. It was also quite expensive. However the wait staff was very attentive and may be one of the few restaurants in that area.

Visited here towards the end of June and it was great! The servers were incredibly helpful and patient as we told them we were practicing our Spanish. We didn’t get the name of the first server but she was very kind and helpful. Then Israel helped us and taught us a few more Spanish words/ phrases. Much thanks to the staff!! We ordered a variety of items including the beet salad, tacos Al pastor, and the National Wagyu. It was all delicious and probably my favorite Al pastor tacos of our trip. We were able to walk in without reservations and be seated right away. The restaurant is beautiful (plus the music wasn’t really loud like a lot of places are doing now). Plus we bought some chocolate from their store in front of the restaurant. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had dinner here in mid Sep 2023. What a great experience. Top 3 dining experiences of the last 10 years. I've never really drunken Mezcal (or don't remember it) but they have artisan Mezcals so I decided to give it a try. The hostess guided me through selection and process graciously. The Mezcal was great with multiple layers of flavor and a beautiful oaky finish a few seconds later. This would be a theme. We had two appetizers. The Sardines and Potatoes were brilliant. The potatoes squares were lightly crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. The sardine with the thinnest baked onion slice led to a beautiful tasting experience. The flavors presented and built on each other in perfect harmony. Second was the Braised Cheek Donuts in Drunken Red Sauce. It consisted of braised beef somehow roped in a circle and with a thin crust making a beautiful donut that when dipped into the light, favorable mole sauce was divine. Again multiple flavors presenting themselves in order and harmony. For the main course, I had the 21 day aged duck paired with burnt onion sauce, white chocolate / cauliflower sauce and some kind of mole. I know it sounds odd but it was super special and all worked together. Nothing overpowered each other and somehow the flavors come out at different times as you savor it. The restaurant is decorated in a fun and eclectic design. The staff is great. Bill totaled $210 USD for a couple for drinks, wine, 3 appetizers and an entree.

On our last day in cdmx we decided to try this place since all over the internet people have given high ratings . Definitely a good one for mexican food. Loved their mahi mahi croquettes,tortilla soup, drinks were flawless. We also tried duck tostada- which was decent. Definitely one of a kind.

My husband, two year-old daughter and I visited this restaurant our first night staying the the hotel. The entire experience was amazing from start to finish! Miguel, Nancy, Irais, and Oscar were wonderful and ensured our experience was unforgettable! I especially appreciated how accommodating they were of our toddler. The food was delicious and there were so many special touches through out our meal including complimentary beverages and empanadas at the beginning and chocolates at the end. Definitely recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Chef Javier García’s tasting menu is outstanding! Really loved how the cuisine celebrated various regions of México. Phenomenal array of mole. On a creative note, there were carefully blended hints of France and Spain. Mike was an excellent host. Stellar cocktails and mocktails. Sorely underrated haute cuisine! TLDR: a superbly memorable fine dining experience!

My famliy and I had the pleasure of visiting Bajel for our first meal in Mexico City, and what a treat it was! We were absolutely blown away by the quality and flavor of the dishes that we tried - the Gnocchi, Carazones Alcachofa, Carozones Lechuga and Taxo Chicarron Queso. The textures and flavors of each dish were incredibly delicious, but what really stood out was how fresh all of the ingredients tasted. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also a highlight; it had a cozy yet contemporary vibe that made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. The staff heaped praise with their friendly demeanor, making sure to check in on us throughout our meal. Having spent 6 days exploring Mexico City's culinary delights, I can confidently say that Bajel was one of the best restaurants we visited while there. It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Mexico City!

Honestly I don't know why this place doesn't get more hype. The service is amazing, the staff went above and beyond for us. We got the tasting menu with wine pairing included and everything was so delicious and well executed. Not to mention reasonably priced. We've been in Mexico city for three weeks and this restaurant was definitely a highlight amongst all the touristy and "highly rated" places, which were mostly underwhelming to us. If we had more time we would come back.

Another tasting menu for Mexico City and while it's SUPER good it falls a little flat in some areas. The BAD: 1. Service wise - I gave plenty of heads-up that my partner is completely vegetarian. However, they only had one tasting menu printed out and explained all of the meals verbally. It would have been nice to see her menu as well, considering you want to follow along and kind of build excitement. 2. This also falls under service - the speed of the tasting was wayyyy too fast. Part of this might be because we came in on a Tuesday night and we were literally the ONLY diners in the restaurant. But, I want a slow tasting menu, I don't need my next course to come right after you cleared my precious course. I actually slowed down on eating just to slow down the tasting, and instead the service took it as me not wanting to finish my courses and trying to clear my plate. 3. Cocktail menu is abysmal. There were like 5 cocktails on it. That is just crazy for a restaurant of this caliber. The GOOD: 1.The food was really well done, very culturally connected and made you feel like you were traveling through Mexico for flavors! The fresh bread is just amazing. They also used really crazy ingredients, I unexpectedly got served DOG TONGUE 2. the space was gorgeous! Just super cute and homey, and well designed! I would definitely come back here again, I think this place is really fantastic.

Considering price and expectation, I’d rate Lorea somewhere between 2-3 stars. I really wanted to like this place, hoping it’d be the next great tasting menu in CDMX offering innovative and unique dishes using locally produced ingredients. Sadly, at 100+ USD, Lorea falls short. The dishes that did taste good had nothing special about them. I’m not sure the flow of courses made much sense either. However, by far the most disappointing part about this dining experience was the service. Perhaps our server was new, but our party barely received a welcome and barely had an explanation around how the experience might work or what drinks we might get. I had to ask what the truffle addition was and pry more details around drinks (don’t expect to have cocktails here…bare minimum offered) and what was available. Once in awhile, we’d have another server come and explain the course, offering his suggestions but this was rare. I just expected so much more. Hoping them improvement and success but in a city that boasts some of the best, you’re better off with a tasting menu somewhere else at this price point.

Incredible tasting menu experience! Loved the entire experience; the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They explained every dish on the menu, and the Somm had a specialized drink pairing for every course. In total the experience lasted nearly three hours, and we left quite full and very happy.

Shocked that this is apparently considered one of Mexico City’s best restaurants. Atmosphere was weird - no energy, music was off, tables and decor underwhelming. Service was great until they started taking away food before we had even finished eating it. Which brings me to the food - bland and flavorless, lack of coherent use of spices, and dishes although looking presentable tasted like they were out of the fridge and sat stale for a few hours. Overall a disappointing dinner. Wouldn’t go here again or recommend.

So this place has some great reviews, and has made a bunch of lists of top restaurants, but it wasn’t right for us. The ambiance feels kind of like a standard hotel lobby restaurant…the lighting is pretty bright, and it just feels plain. The food we had was quite good, but I wish there had been a menu we could have looked at online beforehand…we didn’t want to do a long tasting menu, but that seems to be the thing they push. Service was quite good, and in English if needed. Might give it another try, as we were having a rough day and that might have affected things…but there are so many other wonderful places in town that this one didn’t really stand out.
