Update: store manager and corporate reached out to try to make it better. Went in for another visit and Autumn was absolutely the most excellent server !! She made sure our food came out in a timely manner and it was well cooked, also she made some good suggestions for other food. She will definitely be the reason I return.!!!!!! New pictures added I really wanted to have a good review because I used to really love it here. I'm going to start with the good things. Cheese sticks were epic, came out hot and crunchy. The chocolate milkshake was so delicious and thick those 2 items 10 out of 10. The bad, we ordered our burgers medium well and well done but my burger came out medium rare , so not bleeding but definitely not done enough. The water that was brought out had either a partial napkin or some kind of paper product floating in it. No napkins or silverware was brought out with the food despite there being a salad and other items needing it. I had to send my kid go to front to get them when we didn't see the server for a bit. Our cheese sticks showed up after the meal and per the server someone else must have taken our order. The restaurant was not packed or even busy so it was hard to understand all the problems.

This was the first time eating there. We didn’t have to wait long on a Sunday afternoon either. Once we got seated our friendly waiter took our order. Food arrived less than 30 minutes and it was hot and delicious. I had the cheese burger with bacon and also steak fries. That was very good and the bacon was just the way I like it, a crispy texture but not fried hard. The burger was very juicy and not dry. The steak fries had a light crunch as well. My daughter had a huge beyond meat burger that was delicious to her and also tender and juicy. Also, my other daughter had a turkey club filled with so much fresh veggies. The freckle lemonade was amazing. The fries and lemonade was unlimited so I had to get s refill. You will not be disappointed for the dishes we had.

The service was beyond excellent from beginning to end, or waiter was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. He showed us the allergy menu and how it worked so we did not have to ask 10000 questions. The food was excellent for me, the vegan. I'd never eaten here so this experience was fantastic. I'm heartfelt they offer impossible burgers however there is NO WAY for it to be cooked vegan, the veggie burger on the other hand is special and it was really really really good! The restaurant was clean, fun, and entertaining. There were so many topics to focus things to spark conversations about. I just enjoyed it all.

The food was delicious! I had the crispy chicken sandwich and my brother had the black and Bleu burger. Ate in the bar area and had an amazing experience with Kevin as our waiter. I will absolutely be coming back here! 🤩 (And the Long Island Iced Tea was perfect - I highly recommend it!)

Jakola is by far the BEST!! The cook was awesome. Everything was so good. The mnger walking by was good. He had his staffs back. Someone anyone would want to work for.Jakola was working circles they were short staffed yet on time for everything. !! Will ask for her everything. She had the best attitude and worked so hard. I enjoyed my first visit to Captain J's. Food was lightly breaded and tasted good. I had the fish and shrimp lunch special and the portions were great. I got full for less than $16.00. I highly recommend it for quick seafood with the right bang for your buck. The food is frozen but it gets fried as soon as you order it and I really like that. The only downside is that I got honey mustard instead of tarter sauce for my fish 😂

Honestly the food was ok, not too greasy. The only thing that's definitely gonna keep me from going back is the lack of seasoning. This would have been just a bit better if they had just added some salt. But the food was cheap and came out in like 5 mins so can't complain too too much cause I'm full. Nice and helpful staff, and cheap drinks...even though I didn't get any drinks. This picture is a Seafood Platter with a crabcake. The thing on top is a deviled crab, I think that's what they called it.

The seafood platter is great, so much food, came with 2 Piece fish, jumbo shrimps, crab cake, scallops, coleslaw and fries, the fried batter is so light and good, it’s not heavily breaded just the way I like. It’s very small inside , don’t plan on dinning in during rush times limited seating but the food is very good

Nothing fancy, but great prices on good fried seafood. Just a little hole in the wall mom and pop joint. The tartar sauce may be the best I've ever had. Has a unique taste with a touch of sweet.

The food was great. The stuffed mushrooms were fantastic. My pasta dish was excellent. The chowder was good. Different than I'm used to. Too salty and my wife couldn't eat it. The service was a bit inattentive. Had to call their phone number to get a waitress to come back to our table. I recommend this place overall because the food was worth the irritation.

Fried catfish, smoked Gouda mashed potatoes, and collard greens. With an Old Fashioned, Maple Bacon Bourbon cupcake, and an Oreo Cookie Cheesecake to go. This lunch was absolutely amazing! I didn’t expect this meal to be so savory and well-flavored. I love the inside setup of the restaurant! Very welcoming and a comfortable environment. The staff is very nice and takes great care of their customers. I highly recommend this place for a casual date night or a family meal.

Service was a tad slow to start but was a little busy. The food, drinks, and dessert made up for it!! Had the Gulfstream Tuna Bites (blackened) to start. Medium rare and delicious! Got the Wanchese Fisherman’s Risotto and it’s was absolutely amazing. Super full after that meal so decided on a key lime pie to go and it was one of the best key lime pies I’ve ever had.

Nice restaurant. Walked in and was seated as soon as we stepped in. A saxophone player was at the entrance playing playing nice sounds, which set the atmosphere. Hostes staff was very nice. Had a great variety of wines, beers, and mixed drinks. Order the Station Keepers from the menu.which consisted of ribeye steak, garlic potatoes, and asparagus. Steak was not seasoned as it was the first time I visited. However, it was still ok. The sides were very good. I will return!

Ate here visiting my boyfriend’s mom and it was a great experience. Plenty of open seats and attentive waiters too. Service was amazing and very sweet as well! The wait staff all had coordinated leggings which was nice and Halloween festive too. Loved my healthy nut meal with fruit and the pumpkin pancake was delicious too. I would recommend this place for breakfast!

Fast and quick place for breakfast! Food: your standard American diner foods that’s average priced. They do offer adult beverages along your regular drinks. The country fried steak was decent, but their grits were a little watery and bigger cut than what I was used to. Service: quick and efficient. The wait staff were attentive and it was good for a faster meal. Atmosphere: it’s a seat yourself style which was nice. Had a nice bright flare and colors.

Egg Bistro never disappoints! The food is always high quality and delicious with lots of menu options. I prefer almond milk in my coffee and they are one of the few breakfast places that offer it. They also carry Speedy’s hot sauce, a local favorite. The servers are always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is beautiful and festive. If you haven’t been you must try this locals favorite!

It was a good experience. This was our 2nd & and most successful visit. The 1st time we tried to go, the wait was too long. Today, we arrived before 8 am. There was no wait. The Big Bloody Mary was a meal by itself. Lol. It had shrimp/ sausage skewer, asparagus wrapped in bacon, veggies & boiled egg. I gave 4 stars on the food because the grits were very bland. They had no flavor. The corned beef was good, but too many potatoes. We will DEFINATELY return!!!!

The owners were friendly. The oysters were small. They tasted good. They come with a Mariana sauce. I am not a fan of the sauce. The fish seems like it was frozen. It was the least successful item in the box. Four shrimp came with my meal. I enjoyed them. My side was macaroni and cheese which tasted good. My favorite item were the hush puppies.

Went there at8:30 ordered was given a cab soda no ice because the fountain machine was broke waited ten minutes no big deal and the food came in a plastic bag and the lady there said here’s you’re food. She didn’t bring it to me and even though I said it was for dine in. She said they were closed and I had to leave it was 8:40. Sign said close at 9:00. So I left carrying 34.56 fish dinner and the tip on top of that. that was expected for self service. I just couldn’t take anymore so I walked back to the door set the bag on the sidewalk set the can soda down and left. Terrible service borderline rude. Not overly but I won’t ever go there again. 34.56 for fried fish in a plastic bag with a 12 oz soda. Definitely was not a good customer experience, they won’t last long treating people like that

Super friendly staff! She was very patient and helpful while we decided what we wanted. We decided on a 16 piece fried shrimp platter with potato salad and sweet potato fries. We also tried the sweet chili wings and buffalo wings. Everything was AMAZING!

Even though we couldn't possibly finish, we ordered dessert as well and we were not disappointed. Also, AMAZING! Modern style chop house in Chesapeake. I call it the Chesapeake Town Center. It has a relaxed yet classy vibe. There is a nice lounge area with comfortable seats where you wait for you table. They have a couple different dining areas. There is a private dining room and a section in the back for events. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with the menu. They specialize in choice steaks cooked to preference but offer other options as well. We started with the buttered shrimp and lobster dip along with a round of drinks. We were served complimentary rolls with smooth butter. I had the 55oz tomahawk special serving with whipped potatoes and asparagus. I sure tried to eat it all but could not. It was cooked just the way I asked, juicy with great flavor. The prices are on the high side but worth it. I had read the reviews before our visit so we knew of the 3.5% service fee for credit card transactions. We had a nice visit and would go back.

I spent the evening here for datenight. From the start, our experience was topnotch. The host was friendly and welcoming. Our server made the night feel really special. The halibut was cooked to perfection. It should definitely be an everyday menu item! I would come back more often! The pecans on the wedge salad were a great touch! For the size, it deserved just a little more dressing on the side, in my opinion. I am a bartender, and I love try different drinks. The NY sour was phenomenal! I will be revisiting!

Had this place recommended and went for my birthday dinner. It started off strong with a great charcuterie board. Then it fell flat. Food was ok at best. Steak was fine but lacked flavor, spare rib was tender but again lacked flavor, fish special was good but wasn’t aware the it was fried in cornmeal, cabbage for the pork was underdone. Chocolate cake was dry but the bread pudding was fantastic. Service was fine but it was the service time that was terrible. Not the staffs fault at all as our wait staff had about a dozen tables. Great atmosphere but probably won’t go back.

They serve complimentary rolls and cooked salmon on crackers. These definitely complemented our entrees. I had the steak fillet with lump crab Oscar. I was not disappointed. We were a party of six celebrating a milestone birthday. All of us really enjoyed our selections. I actually had room for dessert and went with the creme brulee, which did not disappoint. The birthday girl also ordered a creme brulee, and they brought hers out with a lit candle. A nice touch. Their prices here are on the expensive side so if i return it will be for another special occasion, I'm carrying cash, or just to visit the bar. I left one star off because they do charge a 3.5% service fee for credit card transactions. They have a full bar with plenty of choices; signature cocktails, wines, and beers.

As I’m trying to talk to the manager, she over talked me. I ask her to lower her voice cause I was trying not to tell her how upset I was in front of my family. She goes no we can talk right here loud and proud. we sat down at 1:30. Our food finally arrived at 3:10 and her explanation was “it’s a Saturday and we asked for a large table so we have to wait.” Thank you moving forward I would like to talk to a manager that cares about their Guest and their experience not to tell me that it’s too busy for them to talk to us and take care of us. After waiting for almost two hours my food was presented to me cold, unseasoned and the my grandkids food came out another 20 minutes after everyone from the party, she never came back to check on us and the only reason why she came out here in the first place is because I said that the food was put in the microwave when they returned it to me. I haven’t seen her for an hour and 1/2 so instead of telling me sorry my food was running late and apologizing for the inconvenience, she ran out here quickly to tell me she don’t put my food in the microwave and she cook my eggs, lies. The manager who spoke to us disrespectfully was a tall lady and she had a high pony tail with a pink blouse with some black shoes. Ice cold, no human should endure such an uncomfortable environment. The table we sat at is covered in syrup, I laid both my arms in it. I hate my experience Food came out luke warm. Broccoli is stiff, undercooked, tastes like plants, covered in debris of other vegetables. Mashed potatoes barely mashed, room temp. Chicken and dumplings BLAND AF, a lot of dumplings, the gravy is sickening in quantities such as this I hate my experience. The server is the only thing I can say is positive about this experience. Terrible experience

This location is popular and is often busy and I can see why. I’m never disappointed with the food here. They always have a solid offering and nice service. Love the maple bacon chicken entree, their brown casserole side and their biscuits!

First time here. Was an excellent experience. Our waiter was outstanding and made sure we were well taken care of. Had a good time looking around the shop before going in to eat. The biscuits and cornbread muffins are awesome! Will definitely be returning in the future.
