One of the few places that have a table for 5+ people. Easy to do a booking through Google as well and I definitely recommend doing that since the whole village is very busy. The service was very slow unfortunately. We had to ask for water at least 5 times and we even went to the bar to finally get some water. The menu had a lot of options for food and drinks. We shared all the burgers and we ended up liking only the one with the fried chicken. The brisket one had a mayo that was not of our liking and the one with beef was too dried out. The soups were tasty. Compared to other places this was ok if you compare the price with the quantity and quality of the food but not the best.

Gave them a shot. We tried the scallop appetizer, it wasn’t bad but wouldn’t order again, presentation was nice, also ordered the steak on special, it was cooked how we ordered but was tough and chewy and the pepper sauce was interesting. Got the fish and chips as well, was a little greasy and lacked flavor and the fries were just little pieces. Servers were polite and food was hot and came out in a timely manor.

Great, centrally located place to eat in Portree. While the ambiance might be less appealing than other places in Portree, the food definitely is worth it. We had Scallops as a starter followed by the Lamb, both were absolutely delicious and we'd happily come back here again.

Great food and service. Extensive whisky menu as well. I started with the blue cheese & potato salad. My wife had the seafood chowder. Both were excellent. For mains I had the salmon and she had the lamb. Both prepared perfectly. High recommend.

Best fish and chips I've ever had! The sticky toffee pudding was also divine. We stayed at the Portree Hotel so breakfast here was included in our stay. I don't know how they make their waffles but they were substantial and mouth wateringly delicious with an element of crunchy sugary sweetness. *Chef's kiss* Service was always prompt, friendly and attentive. Would happily go back again.

Delicious Chinese take away in Skye. Super speedy service and delicious dishes. We got the salt and pepper squid- best I've ever had. King Prawn cashew (delicious), black bean tofu and broccoli in ginger sauce and egg fried rice. Would recommend!

Very helpful server/owner with a slightly grumpy resting face..? I am not Scottish & found what he said/his Sino-Celt accent slightly difficult to catch fully. But I noticed that the local customers had no problems at all… I’ll be reviewing a hearing test centre soon, I suppose… Perfectly cooked takeaway fare, which was exactly what we fancied that evening. Portions are some 50% larger than ‘down south’?

Very tasty and well priced for the area. The food came out quickly. Our only issue was one of the people I'm traveling with has a nut allergy and we were told there is cross contamination in the kitchen so she was unable to order. Those of us that were able to order liked our dishes though.

Ended up here as all the other restaurants were fully booked on a Friday evening. We ordered mushroom fried rice, vegetables fried noodles and Singaporean fried rice. The portions were very generous and we could save almost half for breakfast the next day! Cash only establishment tho!

Terrible food. It has no taste. Initially, I was impressed that they packed my food in 5 mins after ordering. Now I know why. We ordered chicken sweet corn soup, chicken salt and pepper, chicken fried rice and a chicken in ginger and onion gravy. All were terrible. Please save your money.

It was the only place we could eat one night in Portree. Everywhere else you must have a reservation or be standing in line by 5pm. The people that got the fish n chips in my group enjoyed it! I had the chicken nuggets which weren’t that good but it’s okay- that’s not what they are known for!

If you're looking for the worst chippy in the whole of Scotland, you might have just landed yourself lucky. This has to be the worst chips I have ever had in my life. Managed to eat about half of them due to the fact that I paid for them, but the rest went to the bin and even that spat them back out. 11/10 wouldn't recommend. Guide speed.

This was the best fish and chips I have had since visiting UK. My husband and sat outside under the awning while it was sprinkling, which seems to make the whole experience that much better. Also love that wrapped our food in paper. The gentleman taking orders and cooking was very polite and great customer service!!!!

Exceptional dining experience! The staff were incredibly welcoming and the food was nothing short of delicious. Unfortunately, they seated us near the door for breakfast while everyone else enjoyed the cozier inner parts of the restaurant. It took 10 minutes before we were asked what we'd like to drink, and the coffee came without milk. It was another 15-20 minutes before the hot food arrived. Best food in Scotland thus far. We very much enjoyed the soup of the day (carrot), the smoked fish platter (starter) was incredible, the fish of the day (herring) was also wonderful as was the dessert (lemon cream). Our friendly young waiter made the night perfect.

This would be a 4.5 for me. NEED to have reservations! Period. Great, attentive staff! Just know that the menu is seafood heavy. My wife doesn’t eat so just make sure to look at the menu. We had gammon and lamb burger. It was out super fast and hot. Great upscale atmosphere. Music didn’t match decor though. Great job!

Reserved a table online. We really enjoyed the seafood platter as an appetizer. Our main dishes were very tasty. Down side was the lack of service. No mention of today’s specials. Wait staff didn’t stop by at our table after receiving the food. No check in and it was tough to flag someone down for the check and pay the bill. Would’ve ordered another beer and dessert if the service existed.

This is without any doubt the best breakfast venue in Portree! In the past I have also sampled many other items on their menu...all are excellent too! Although the Red Brick could quite easily change their cafe they have obviously chosen to remain true to traditional fare and provide the best food and service at decent prices to their customers. Thanks to all their staff! Fabulous! Btw....its not an English breakfast as the recommended dishes section implies....its Scottish.... thankfully!

Odd location within a hardware store in a light industrial area, but worth seeking out! The cafe is in the front but the entrance and parking are in the rear. Staff were lovely and always cleaning when they weren't serving. Food was generous and delicious, right down to the hearty bread. Fun and stylish decor. Would come here again in a heartbeat.

This was the only place open when we were in Skye for breakfast. And it wasn't bad. The eggs on toast were great and the the works was pretty good. Just a note for tourist. You order at the register. They do not do table service. And yes it is in the back of a hardware store. But who cares!

I’m not sure why this place has such great reviews. Besides being in a very odd location (the back of a hardware store, which is really not a problem if the food was good), the food was terrible. We ordered the pancakes and the eggs with toast. The pancakes were hard, and clearly not fresh. It was obvious the pancakes were frozen cakes they just microwaved and microwaved way too long. The eggs were watery and had absolutely no flavor. Overall, the food here is terrible and I cannot recommend given all the other great breakfast spots nearby.

The staff was extremely polite and attentive, they always noticed quickly when we were finished and asked several times if we wanted anything else. They also recommended some dishes and introduced them nicely. They also supported us in the decision if any sides are necessary or not. And the portions were very reasonably so the recommendation to share a side worked out perfectly. The sole with the sea salt was a little too salty and oily for me personally. The slow cooked lamb shank my husband had was extremely tender and really loosened by itself from the bone. Also a bit salty though. The atmosphere was very relaxing and elegant. We went there for another night and I had the salmon which was buttery soft and the seasoning was just right.

Nice little restaurant in Portree harbour. Very efficient server, and little waiting time for the food. We had the Salmon Gravlax which was nice but not extraordinary and the Seafood chowder which was quite enjoyable. As mains we had the chicken, which was a huge portion almost good to feed two people and tasty, and the venison, which was decent but not that much. No dessert, some beer and water totalled us £62. Not a particular atmospheric place, but more than decent food and good service.

Four stars for service is solely a reflection of their limited staffing, a global problem, so take with a grain of salt. Very limited menu but everything on it was excellent. We stayed three days so sampled most of it. Fish and chips is a standout in a country famed for the dish. Peter is old-school waitstaff. Made us feel like Scottish nobility.

The people were very nice and the view was great! I ordered the paella as I thought the name of the place is Spanish so they must have good Paella! Unfortunately it was quite dry and also the bread that went with it was a little dry. I'm used to a different kind of paella so I was a little disappointed. They had some gluten free options for my girlfriend and that tasted OK but not great. The Aztec hot chocolate was nice and spicy!

Fantastic cafè! The staff was welcoming and friendly. They let me start for a few hours as I replanned my trip. They serve breakfast all day, and have a variety of lunch options. The atmosphere is cozy and bright. Plenty of natural lighting, and excellent variety of plants. I cannot recommend stopping here enough!

Very cute spot with pretty views if you can get to a window! It was quite busy when we came in, about a 10 minute wait. When we did get seated it was fairly quick to get our food but our drinks came a bit after the food instead of the other way around. The smoked salmon quiche was delicious and the Aztec hot choco had a delightful amount of spice.

Yummy, hearty food with a warm smile we went back twice! First a warm breakfast bagel 🥯 with scrambled egg 🥚 and smoked salmon, hot chocolate and a double espresso ☕️. We had to wait in line when we came back for lunch. Super popular spot! NB: Highly recommend their pulled pork.

Stopped off in Portree en route to catch the ferry from Uig and spied this cute little cafe for a spot of breakfast. I had the small breakfast where you can pick 5 items and a latte. Cleaned my plate! It was so good we stopped off here on our way back down to Fife. Bacon roll this time and equally good. The interior is bright and well decorated and the staff and really friendly. I love all the unique salt and pepper pot combinations across the different tables too. Highly recommend!
