Excellent restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Wanted to get some seafood while in Newport and this was one of the top suggestions in the area and it didn't leave us disappointed. The clam chowder was creamy and excellent. Had a prix fixe menu which was a great bang for your buck. The shrimp and grits were quite tasty and the shrimp were huge and fresh. The pork was cooked well and had good flavor. Salads were excellent with nice dressings.

I discovered this place by doing a Google search for the best restaurants, and I am glad that I got a chance to eat here on my last night staying in Newport. Everything about this restaurant from the ambiance to the food is truly fantastic. The hostess that seated me was warm and welcoming, and my server (whom I didn't get a name) was friendly and very attentive. They have a great sized, reasonably priced menu, which includes Prix Fixe items that are served Sunday through Thursday from open to close. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder, the Pan Seared Cod, and Olive Oil Cake, and everything was fresh and delicious. The cod, which was the highlight of the meal, was so soft, flaky, and moist. The bartender can also whip up a great cocktail as well. The restaurant itself seems quite large and is kept very clean. They also have outdoor dining as well. Overall, I was very pleased with my first experience here over this past weekend, and I will be sure to stop in again the next time I visit the Newport area.

The soup of the day was corn chowder and it was great! Lobster and duck quesadilla also was delicious. We enjoyed the cocktails. I didn’t like wedge salad - I just don’t like such type of salads. The service was fast and the staff is friendly and attentive to us. The prices are moderate. The place is clean and everything has a high quality. The restaurant was overcrowded, it’s better to order a table in advance.

While visiting Newport, this spot was recommended by a friend, as well as a tour guide from earlier in our day. Additionally, the Duck and Lobster Quesadilla was highly recommended. Everything was fine. The food was well prepared and the atmosphere was great. There was a bit of confusion with the "Bartender's Beer of the Day", where it was admittedly mismarked; however, that did not stop them from selling the incorrect beer and doubling down on the mistake. Overall, a great time and one I would recommend to those visiting the area.

I made it a point to visit this café during our Newport trip, driven by the numerous glowing reviews. Naturally, I couldn't resist trying their famous Eggs Benedict, and it turned out to be the best breakfast I've had in my year here in the US. This place is a must-visit when you're in Newport. I'm already craving their food, and I'll definitely be back!

Most of the time, we think of this place in the summer to sit outside by the water. But they have really good food, friendly service. So even if you can't sit outside, check this place out. I have had eggs benedict before , and they were delicious. This time, I took a sandwich and coffee to go. Excellent.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. It’s located inside the marina next to ginormous yachts. I had the breakfast, the “make your own omelette” plate. The potatoes were wonderfully seasoned (no salt/pepper needed), my omelet was well cooked, pancake was crunchy-ish and they included fruit(sweet strawberries, pineapple & orange). The vibe was very ocean/beachy. Staff was super attentive and delightful! The place gets very busy, so going early is good. I will return if I’m ever in this area again!

I’m a local just to start off the conversation and review. I love walking to Belles on a week day morning for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. This morning the waitress was so kind and saw that my dog needed more water than I prepared for after a much hotter walk than I thought it would be. She got us and the table next to us (2 dogs there) water as well. She was quick with drinks (iced coffee in July is a must!) and the Lox sandwich with a fried egg on top was delish! It was filling enough that I took the other half home. Our server Kelsey was very friendly and attentive! They don’t take reservations so you will likely have a little bit of a wait the working environment is very cool and there is a shop to buy some safe harbor swag. It’s all mostly outdoor so dress for the temp, it can get windy🤭

If you are in Newport, you absolutely need to visit this restaurant. Their food is phenomenal. We’ve tried lobster roll, surf and turf burger, grilled octopus and grilled salmon on kid’s menu. Ingredients were so fresh and they were prepared beautifully. Please make reservation several days ahead.

Probably the best meal I had in Newport. The star of the show was the oysters, king crab and surprisingly the steak! The sandwich was good with the pickles, if you don't like pickles you'd probably need a bit more dressing.

I wanted to have a little something to eat and drink at the outdoor bar. The bar was pretty full, but no one was eating. The bartender did only give me a drink menu. So j assumed that it was drinks only until I was almost done, and a few gentlemen sat down, and he asked them if they wanted a food menu. So I am a little disappointed, but otherwise the service was good, the drink is good and it is a beautiful place.

Delightful! This place came as a recommend from a local and we tried it out! Good food, good service and all around good atmosphere. If you're looking for Italian food with some flair, this is the place. Good wine selection and fun vibe (gotta mesh the two). The place is small, so be prepared to wait if you don't reserve. You can chill in the pocket park across the street while you wait. Check it out!

Went for our anniversary dinner last night. The service was great! Our food was absolutely amazing. We ate every last bite! We had the clam appetizer, short rib dinner, and shrimp risotto. The flavors were unbelievable. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu and affigato. Prices were reasonable, too.

My husband I were in town for a conference and stopped by on a Thursday afternoon lunch. We sat at the bar, chatted with the friendly bartender and enjoyed the Italian farro salad, olives and the roasted rhode island mushrooms pizza. We both had mock-tails, my husband had don’t call me Shirley and I had the spicy pal-no-ma. I can’t say enough about our meal and our experience. First of all, the staff was superb and Uber friendly. I love that they are 100 % Employee-Owned and it shows. The food that we ordered was delicious and the attention to detail was outstanding. I have a peanut allergy and was amazed and appreciative by the attention with the cute “ allergy” flags and then was asked if I minded them on my plate! We finished off our meal with sharing a pistachio-ricotta-cream layer cake. Superb all around.

We went here for a friend’s birthday lunch and we were given bread for appetizers. My friend bit into the bread and unfortunately, when she looked down, there was a bloody bandaid baked into the bread. We were disgusted to say the least. The manager did comp our meal, but this is extremely unhygienic.

In the middle of the square, this place is a gem. The decor is high end, elegant, clean, fresh and relaxing. The food was superb. I had the lobster roll and it was really good. Cocktails are amazing. The service was above average. Our server did not rush us, kept us always hydrated. Overall, great experience and I highly recommend this place.

Four stars for the location and ambience. Four stars for most dishes and five stars for the staff for their friendliness. Three star for the prices! We went for a Sunday brunch. All dishes we tried were good except for the French toast. It was definitely not one of the best that I had before. Salmon cake was great. They also have kids menu. The prices are very high. Minimum 15 dollars for a small size cocktail. 24 dollars for a regular brunch dish.

This restaurant has a lovely classic Newport interior and delicious locally sourced food. We were in a hurry to make a sailboat ride and they had our food out within 15 minutes of ordering. Our waiter was very courteous and made us feel welcome here. I had the quiche of the day which contained goat cheese and came with fresh greens. It truly was a delight to eat here!

We were seated quickly on a Friday. The dreamsicle cocktail 🍸 intrigued me. There is no orange in the mix, and instead used a combo of cherry and lime. It tasted like an orange dreamsicle and the ingredients at the same time. I would recommend it. I enjoyed some seafood with lobster and corn fritters followed by the moules frites. The frites stole the show for me. They were the right blend of crispy and saltiness. The mussels and fritters were good as well. The frites had little chunks of lobster. The mussels On the land loving end, the French onion had a rich broth and a good balance of onions, bread and cheese. The steak and frites were good.

Beautiful restaurant and good service. The prices are on the higher end. The food was good but not exceptional. We ordered a lobster roll and the stake frites. A cocktail and a soft drink. The lobster was good but a bit salty, it came with a nice small side salad. The steak was undercooked, we ordered it medium well and it was more like a medium rare but the taste was good. The cocktail was very nice. No free refills on soft drinks and it is served in a small glass. They served us room temperature water, we asked for ice and they brought some. They did serve complimentary bread and salted tomatoes before the meal came. Very small list of desserts. We did not order one. Would go back and give it another chance.

Delightfully creative and inspired cuisine such as poached lobster in a house made fermented siracha sauce and wild sea bass on a bed of ravioli to satisfy the most intrepid foodie, but thank goodness for the more traditional menu items, especially the excellent kids menu for our littles! Very grateful to Dominick and Xander for elevating our dining experience with exceptional service. The sunset views cannot be beat! Can’t wait to return!

We weren't sure what to expect from a "hotel restaurant", but Showfish was better than we thought it would be. They have a nice menu selection and the food was upscale in quality and presentation. We were there a little late for the season and mostly had the place to ourselves. The waiter was attentive and helpful. We would go again.

So my boyfriend and I reserved a table for dinner last night and showed up a few minutes early. The waitress was pleasant, and we were excited to try the food. We ordered a salad to start, and decided to split a filet mignon and fries because we were not that hungry. The steak came out, we split it into two, and my boyfriend started eating first. He looked up at me and said “this isn’t steak”. Honestly, I thought he was joking or his taste buds were off. I took a bite- 100% not steak. It was like brisket. It looked like brisket, tasted like brisket. It was so soft we could cut it with a fork. Texture was completely off. It was 100% not a $68 filet. Normally I wouldn’t say anything, but this was a special evening for us, we both wanted steak, and I didn’t want him to pay $68 for something we didn’t want. So when the waiter came over again, we explained what was going on and she said she would check with the chef. She comes back a few minutes later with the manager, who insists it tastes the way it tastes because it’s “so fresh”. He clearly does not believe us- maybe he thinks we’re being cheap? I don’t know but he did not apologize, did not offer to bring us a new plate, or take it off the bill. He leaves, the waiter comes back over to apologize (she was very polite and sweet), and I showed her the texture….she also agreed it was not filet. But she doesn’t seem to want to go against the managers decision. Honestly, we could have continued arguing, but it didn’t seem worth it to us, and like I said the waitress was really sweet. So we paid $143 for our meal of a salad, fries, and essentially pulled pork. Super disappointing. It just felt like they really didn’t care and didn’t think we were being honest.

This was just okay IMO. The hostess seated us right away and we liked that we were brought upstairs. The server who helped us began our interaction by saying hello then saying we aren't her table, sorry, bye. Then she came back and was like oh well forget it I'll just help you. That was awkward and I hope it was a one off for that person and not a habit of theirs. The food was overpriced for what it was. I got a huge bowl of pasta that was mostly cheese and noodles. When we went to pay the server then informed us that there's a 3% fee for using a credit card. I've got to say, that felt a little smarmy. This is a pseudo upscale place that is clearly a tourist trap. We had to keep our day moving so we tried it, and I'm sure that's a good portion of how they get those booths full. I met a German family in CA a couple weeks ago and they were concerned that America is going cashless and they only brought cash for their trip. How interesting to go to RI and find that I am penalized for using credit. That just left a sour taste in my mouth- I have never been to a restaurant with a $75 bill and be told I have to cover the credit fee. Even gas stations just ask for a $5 minimum. Totally nuts.

The best Lobster bisque I have tried. The one with lobster in it. Went on a weekday less busy. Window sitting was nice. The lobster roll was just as good. Large building in the corner can't miss it. Great service ! Enjoyed the meal.

We stopped in for lunch and were able to be seated right away by a most charming and very friendly hostess. This blond sweetie was the best part of our RPR experience. I actually told her that when we left. Our server, Amy P, was far less friendly and far less enthusiastic about us being there or perhaps even her job. I attempted to make friendly chit chat with her (we are from Georgia) but with no reciprocation whatsoever. She had to be flagged down for whatever we were looking for, water, salad dressing, a glass of wine. The young man working the bar on the other hand, was equally enjoying his day job as was the hostess. If we were to return we’d likely sit at the bar instead. I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and my hubby ordered the tropical salad with chicken. Amy forgot his dressing request (and nowhere to be seen to remind her) until he was just about done with his salad. The croutons were extremely stale on both our salads which….not a good back of the house sign, IMO. I can’t say we’ll go back. Very disappointing.

Good variety of food ordered, from chicken to lobster quesadillas. Calamari was delicious. Someone ordered a lobster Caesar salad, and mentioned that there was a little too much dressing premixed in the salad that was overpowering the overall taste. Edit: hours later the same person that had the salad had terrible food poisoning. I felt a little queasy in the evening as I remember trying some of that dish as well.

Lobster roll was amazing. My mother had the fish and chips and loved it. And my mother doesn’t like the taste of fish if that tells you anything. Portions were generous and the staff was very knowledgeable about the menu. Very good experience.
