Came for my anniversary dinner. A must stop when in the area. Food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was spectacular. Our waitress was awesome and made sure we were good on all of our requests. The restaurant seem small from the outside. Once you are inside the perception is changed with it being way larger than expected.

Yes, their filet is as tender as they come. The starter bread was a warm and soft white loaf, easy to fill up on. The included salad is pretty basic, a slice of iceberg topped with dressing. However, you can order additional toppings (bacon, tomato, blue cheese crumbles) for $2 ea. The food arrived quickly and we quickly cut into our filets and my little 6 oz was black and blue perfection. The temperature of everyone else's steaks were also accurate. The favorite side on our table was hands down the jalapeno Mac with just the right amount of zing. The broccoli au gratin and scalloped potatoes, were delicious and arrived topped with copious amounts of real melted cheese. I personally wasn't impressed with the mushrooms, not browned enough and under seasoned, but the rest of the table raved about them. Of our three desserts, the creme brulee was the winner and one of the creamiest with a strong vanilla flavor. The cheesecake was very dense, and less sweet than most but it works out well with the super sweet berry topping. Our third dessert was vanilla ice cream, and um, yeah. The service is very good, Colby was attentive and courteous throughout our dinner. The drawbacks: no beer on tap, no prime rib, and you're on your own for parking. Plan to spend ~$120 pp

The food was OUTSTANDING! The service was OUTSTANDING! The portions are OUTSTANDING! The one problem, and it really was *my own* fault: Their sides are practically meals in themselves. I ordered two sides for my steak. My girlfriend ordered two sides for her steak. -Don't do this unless you want to and can take home a LOT OF FOOD! It ain't cheap, so it felt like I wasted some money and food. Get one side each. Trust me. I am definitely going back. The place is amazing.

This restaurant, as a local, is always at TOP of our list! It checks everything off! Service is always phenomenal as soon as we walk in the door. We are always greeted with a smile. Every waiter or waitress we’ve ever had is so attentive and friendly, but BEST OF ALL the FOOD IS SO GOOD! Always fresh, flavorful, and delicious!! Thank you Gruene Door for the consistent EXCELLENT food and service! I added a photo of MY favorite dish the chicken piccata no capers with flash fried spinach!! We don’t always indulge in desert, but did this time!

I had heard this one was one of the best restaurants in the New Braunfels area - and it was! Had the 8 oz beef tenderloin, asparagus & potatoes. Tenderloin was a perfect medium-perfectly seasoned & cooked. I don't usually finish asparagus - but I finished these. My wife had the Caprese salad & crab cakes w/flash fried spinach from the small plate menu. Perfectly prepared, seasoned & plated. Crab cakes were Baltimore style and rivaled them. The wine selection is great, good variety & price selection. The kitchen & chef are putting out great food! This place is a find. We'll be back.

We love the oyster bar!!! Phenomenal oysters both the premium raw and the broiled herb butter oysters were sooo good and we also got the crab dip. Sooooo tasty!!! I highly recommend their spicy bloody mary and definitely the breakfast shot!!! We loved KK, Tim and Ranger! They are awesome bartenders.

My father came into town and wanted to try some oysters, so we came to the Oyster Bar. I personally don't enjoy seafoodso I tried the sliders. They were absolutely amazing! I was surprised at how simple yet delicious it was. The rest of the family had oysters. My father has had oysters all over the place, and he said these were some of the best he had ever had. If you love oysters, this is the place to come. I will say the only downfall was the noise level. It was very hard to have a decent conversation with the music as loud as it was. I can't wait to try something else. If it's half as good as the sliders, it will be well worth it.

Great service! The young man was very energetic, attentive and accommodating. I had their oyster poor boy with fries and added ginger coleslaw. The oysters were nicely fried with a mix of cornmeal and flour? It was not over cooked and they were some pretty large oysters. The ginger coleslaw was good and interesting, I would recommend it. My husband had their blackened chicken sandwich, came with jalapeño cheese and guacamole. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu.

We popped in for an afternoon cocktail and had a really great time. We tried two different drinks that are a Downtowner original (one was bourbon based with black berry liqueur and one was a refreshing cocktail with a sugar rim). Both were delicious on a hot day. The atmosphere was really cool and the manager was friendly. We definitely had a nice time here.

Had pretty good food. Wish there were bottomless mimosas but the wait was short and the servers were nice! The fries and home fries were kinda gross if you like crispy fries. The ones here were massive and oil soaked. Inedible for me but maybe someone likes them like that. Try the Nashville hot sliders! Delicious!

Awesome place with a very cool menu that has a touch of style and comfort. Great whiskey selection and enough draft beers to keep ya happy. The bar is friendly and inviting, and the decor is fun with lots of interesting artwork. They also do brunch so you'll have to check that out as well!

Heard about the Downtowner on the radio. Finally, found out where it is located. The food was delicious. We started out with the end pieces. I liked it. It had a bit of a kick to it. Too fatty for my wife. Good selection of beer and my wife enjoyed the sangria. The Country Fried Steak was so good. I had the fries with gravy on them. Very glad to come here and looking forward to returning.

The Onion Rings are great! The burgers are pretty good too just need a little more seasoning and heat for me. Service was not bad and we were seating really quickly even though they said 20-30 minutes was only like 5 minutes. If you enjoy beer this place has a lot of choices. Definitely worth checking out!

Nice place for lunch. We ordered the Pour Over w/fries (comes with a small bowl of a cheese sauce, really good!) & North Carolina burger w/salad (chili was good). Plus the order of onion rings, which were really good. Both burgers are made with homemade buns, a plus! Finally, a refreshing margarita. We sat inside because of this heat, but the outside dining area would be nice in cooler weather. $$

Well this is a lovely little gem of a spot. When it comes to hipster, craft beer spots this one is so good it leaves the hipsters behind. I mean, there were some there, but mostly just a bunch of folks who love great beer, great food, and great service. Decor is fabulous and themed. Impressive selection of beers on tap to choose from. Excellent and professional staff. Even more impressive because they were all so young and still delivered. Food was great. Bathrooms were spotless. Even had a peek at the kitchen which was spic and span clean. Beer was excellent. Totally going back.

My partner and I were visiting new Braunfels looking for a pet friendly restaurant and came across Muck & Fuss. I’d have to say the dining experience here was very nice. They gave my pets, a complementary tree and even a water bowl. The staff was very nice and professional, and were very quick to get our orders, even though it was quite busy! Most importantly, the food was amazing. I had the Diablo burger with the brisket cheese fries. 10/10 would recommend

Wife and I had a great dinner here tonight. First up, the ambiance is just lovely, and we were early enough to be seated with a perfect river view. She had the Ranch Water and I had an Old Fashioned and they were both quite tasty. We aimed for lighter fare given our earlier meals. She had the Chicken Guadalupe and I got the Chicken Piccata. Both of us subbed our mashed taters for rice, which turned out great. Highly recommend doing that. I'm sure their mashed taters are great and all but the rice completed both dishes perfectly. Our server Dylan didn't bat an eye at the request and did a great job.

This place always has a line, come early. Service was slow even though we came early. We weren't served until 45 minutes after we were seated. Our waitress forgot my iced tea, and I had to reorder it. She got queso sauce on the plate of my son's chocolate cake and still served it like that. I'm sure, like everywhere else they are short staffed. Beyond all of the little hiccups, the food is beyond excellent and it is our restaurant of choice for birthdays. We're always going to come back for the food, but wow, prices are crazy and staff must be short.

But even my taco was more of a mature taste bc of feta cheese & charred meat. Mimi liked her salad but we didn’t vibe with the dressing The waitress gave us lots of info and got us samples too

First experience here and not disappointed. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and seating was available. They have a kids menu which was perfect since I had my 8 year old with me. $5.95 for chicken strips was extremely fair price. Granted the other dishes were a little more pricey the quality of the dishes was worth every penny. The ambiance here is perfect for a date night. I’m looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in new Braunfels.

This was such an experience! The amazing food, the service and the atmosphere came together to make this dinner so enjoyable. I had the chopped steak covered with cheese and batter fried jalapenos. I really like the lights strung across the outdoor area, quaint seating and beautiful plants. Can't wait to check out the fried brie appetizer next time. Will definitely be back! The parking is tight in front, but across the street out back is a larger parking lot with plenty of space. That way you get to walk through the back garden area too.

Exceptional! Everything was awesome. This place is super cute. We sat on the patio and had a drink and the chips and 3 salsas. The red/spicy (not too spicy) and black bean salsas were very good. The green tomatillo salsa was so good I would have finished it with a spoon of we ran out of chips. Then we went inside to share the pork medallions. They were fantastic. Tender, tasty, the baby potatoes and green beans that accompanied the pork were just as awesome. I almost forgot the bread and butter and Cesar Salad, they were as delicious as everything else. Service was friendly and on point. I can't overemphasize how adorable the entire location is.

Should have called for a reservation. No idea it was so popular, but certainly understand. Great food and service and very unique place. Fascinating to read the history on the website. Very very hot day and we really wanted to dine inside, but because of theater tickets we opted to eat on the back patio which was shaded and had a couple of fans. At 104 degrees, still hot, but bearable.

First time here and I loved it. The wine bar outside is perfect. We are out there drinking our wine while we waited for our table. The wait was estimated perfectly also. We had the Fried Brie while waiting and it was delicious. I had the Basil Chicken and my friend had the Mix & Match and he for the Quail and beef medallions. We both enjoyed our dishes and had to tap out and took to go plates. They serve good size portions.
