It is not clean i kitchen. The dishes spoon and fork are often not cleaned. The hotel is good but kitchen is not good. I remember instances where they could not even cook sambar rice properly or curd rice. Avoidable...

The service staff is fairly rude and denied us lunch for being 5 minutes late and showed us the way out, while the restaurant had other customers yet to be served. This goes on to show that making a good eatery is more than just furniture and pretty clothed staff. Situated in a restaurant which claims to give an experience of Indian heritage, this restaurant is certainly a big blotch. So, yes, don't waste your money, time and energy, it's not worth it.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I ordered Masala dosa and coffee. The dosa had a perfect crispness to it, and the gravy was packed with delicious flavors.The coffee, it was truly exceptional. The aroma was inviting, and the taste was rich and satisfying. The hospitality of the staff is also commendable. I would like to give a special mention to Mrs. Gomati, one of the staff members who warmly welcomed me and made sure that my dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Worst maintainance. We have been coming to Ramana mess from almost 7-8 years. It was outstanding before but now it is very low rated. If you go to the hand wash area you will definitely vomit. I will never come back ever again.

Taste is fantastic. This was my first team having south indian meal and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Quality and taste for food is great value for money. For 100rs you get 3 sabji, 3 type of sambhars and rasam and pyasam. Their is constant influx of people and aways crowded. Must taste.

One of the busiest restaurents I have been in madurai, decent food available, I had meals and it was a good one, varaities of items are put on the banana leaf all are unlimited which was the best part. Rice is well cooked, almost all the items are nice but there is room for improvements in many items taste wise. Choose your day to come here, better on weekdays, weekends are busiest, will make you wait for a looong time near the table😊. But value for money! Parking is really difficult as they dont have dedicated parking, only few cars can be parked in front of the hotel premises. Overall a good one, I recommend this place, happy munching 😁

It’s surely one the best South Indian Vegetarian restaurant in the city 🍱 The taste and the quality of food is so good always 🍛🍝 The place is mostly crowded because of the location so we need to wait and have food during most of the times and it’s a good thing that they have a waiting place to get food parcel 👍🏻 But it’s a worst thing that they have only one washroom for the entire place 🚽 ( One for Men and One for Women ) They do have a A/C dining upstairs✨ Parking is always full but there are securities who help us to park the car nearby 🚗

Would have given 5 star if the seating area is enough to accommodate more than 4 people per table. If you’re planning to visit as group of 4+ people then it’s hard to find any tables. One of the good vegetarian restaurants in the theppakulam area. Only street parking available, difficult to find parking during rush hours.

An exceptional experience with delicious food and waiters who gave a masterclass in hospitality. I went there quite hungry and I was mentally preparing myself to wait for the food. Like magic, in the time it takes most restaurants to bring the bottled water, my food arrived. And it arrived steaming hot and tasted absolutely excellent. There is something special about the way they make their mutton dishes in particular. The welcoming, warm, and witty staff will leave your heart as full as your stomach.

Went to Kumar mess for dinner when I was in Madurai last week. Went to the first floor space as ground floor was full. Got a table and we ordered food. Most items were served within 5-10 mins. We ordered one Mutton Biriyani(Seeraga Samba), which was good but quantity was below average. Had ordered one veechu parotta which was hot and ok. Had ordered 2 Kari dosas, which was like oothappams with chicken stuffed - Was good with chicken gravy and chutney. Mutton kola urandais were ordered which was not hot but tasted ok. Extra chicken curry was ordered which tasted ok. Had ordered a crab omelette for myself and plain omelette for my parents - Both were good. It Costed around 1500 for 3 people, which I think is the standard with these mess kind of restaurants in Madurai. Can try this restaurant for authentic Madurai dishes when you are near this place. Only thing to note is the dish prices need to be checked before ordering, or else a tourist might get a shock if you are travelling on a large group as the prices are above average, but quantity served is below the average.

Well maintained restaurant with good atmosphere and service. I went little early and there is no rush. I've tried only Chicken Curry Dosa. It was excellent. Must try. They also serve fresh and hot briyani for dinner and all spare parts of chicken, mutton and sea foods. Don't miss this food. Try once. They have both ac and non AC dining.

We were in search of European flavors, and Phil’s Bistro exceeded our expectations in every way. I couldn't resist trying the Chicken Parmesan and the Chicken Bell pepper with rustica sauce, and both dishes were a delightful burst of flavors. They were well-made, incredibly tasty, and the rich, authentic flavors transported us to Europe right here in Madurai. Not to be outdone, the rest of my family enjoyed their selections as well. The sizzling cheesy chicken, the chicken Alfredo, and the jalapeño chicken were all outstanding. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and left us craving more. But the true surprise came with the dessert selection. We decided to indulge in every option on the menu, and the brownie and lava cake were clear standouts. I had a disappointing experience at Phil's Bistro recently, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. The evening started with high hopes, but it quickly turned into a frustrating and unsatisfactory dining experience. The first major issue was with the food quality. My party and I ordered pasta, and it arrived at our table undercooked and still al dente. It was evident that the kitchen had not given it the proper attention and time it deserved. The result was a less-than-pleasant dining experience as we struggled to enjoy our meal due to the undercooked pasta. The service, however, was even more frustrating than the food quality. To make matters worse, the restaurant didn't even provide us with plates for our meal. We were left in an awkward situation, trying to eat directly from the serving plate, which is far from the expected standard of service. This inconvenience persisted even after we politely asked the staff for plates, which they promised to bring but never did. The lack of responsiveness and attentiveness from the staff made the dining experience at Phil's Bistro extremely unpleasant. It felt as though our needs and concerns were being completely ignored. In conclusion, my visit to Phil's Bistro left me deeply dissatisfied with both the quality of the food and the level of service provided. Undercooked pasta and the absence of plates for our meal marred what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. I hope that the restaurant takes these issues seriously and improves the quality of its food and service to ensure a more positive experience for future patrons.

Had a sub-par experience at phil's recently. I was seated in a separate dining hall where the service was extremely slow. It took ages for anyone to come and take an order. We've experienced slow service at phil's before but this was the first time that i found no waiters around to even take orders. The bill itself took 10-15 minutes to ready. The food was alright. The main course was fine but the dessert - key lime pie - was mostly condensed milk with hardly any lime in it. As though someone threw some ingredients together as an after-thought. It was extremely sweet and not worth being on the menu in this state. Enclosing image of it. You will see it is very different from what previous diners have posted. This experience is going to ensure that i don't go there again and I'm going discourage others from doing the same. Good luck to the management.

It was an evening with my best friend from school.We're happy to have chosen Phil's Bristo. All what we've had ordered was incredibly,irresistibly flavourful. It's instantly comforting & heartly foods ,but spirited enough to make one feel invigorated. Chef Phil truly understands Italian / American flavour.Thank you for the amazing foods & hospitality. 😊 Must visit.

Ambience is good but not maintained properly. They have service not upto the mark they charge. The food taste is good and they provide multiple menu options. We have tried #burger #pizza #lasagna #milkshake. Among which must try is Lasagna. Others are average but they pricing is high. What we felt was we paid more for average quality food. We can better go for Damino or KFC.

It was a great experience here. Place has chill vibes kind of ambience and offers variety of cuisines. Each item we ordered was prepared exactly how we demanded and service was prompt and in order. Owner of the restaurant is so humble and was asking our feedback too. Hygiene and safety measures were also in their top list which is found usually lacking in most of the places. Would definitely visit again. Kudos to all the team of restaurant for making our dinner memorable !

Suggested by brother in law, so went there for dinner with family around 8 members. Taste and quality was excellent as well as unexpected. Very less rate for all good items including gravy and tandoori, grill chicken also. 8 members ate enough food and bill is around Rs.1500 only. Only disadvantage is PARKING not available if you come by car. Bikes also park on road only. Must recommended for party goers and get together functions. Total seating available around 20 members approx. 95% bachelor boys gang only coming to this place.

Firstly, I must highlight the issue of unhygienic conditions that I observed during my visit. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired, with dirty tables, sticky surfaces, and a general lack of attention to cleanliness. It is crucial for any dining establishment to maintain a high standard of hygiene, as it directly impacts the health and satisfaction of customers. Furthermore, I was disappointed with the quantity of food provided. The portion sizes were noticeably smaller than what I have come to expect from a restaurant of your reputation. As a customer, I expect to receive value for the money I spend, and it was disheartening to leave the restaurant feeling unsatisfied due to inadequate portions. Lastly, the behavior of the manager Mr.Murali was quite concerning. I found the manager to be lethargic and unresponsive. Despite bringing the issues to their attention, there was no effort made to address the problems or provide any form of resolution. This lack of attentiveness and customer service is not reflective of the high standards one would expect
