Best Restaurants in Kamloops

We were excited to give this restaurant a try as we've heard good things about it: authentic Italian food made from scratch. Maybe the experience would've been better on a different day because we were disappointed with our first and likely only visit. We were not greeted after waiting several minutes to be seated. We almost thought of leaving and decided to walk up to the far counter for service. It was then, we were told to choose any unreserved tables for two. The setting was very aromatic, cute and cozy, but the chairs were plastic and uncomfortable. For a fine dining experience with dishes almost $25-$30 a dish, we expected better furnishing and customer service. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. Our appetizer was forgotten and later brought out after we waited some more after our entrees, when we asked what happened to it. The utensils were removed so it was tricky to eat with just our hands as most of the tomatoes fell onto the plate. 😂 The complementary focaccia was simple but tasty and we enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we lost our appetite waiting so long for the entrees to come. My husband heard the gnocchi was delicious and soft, so he ordered that and was disappointed at the small serving size. For $28, he finished it in 2 minutes like it was a small appetizer. He joked, "I'm paying $1.25 per gnocchi, it seems." There was very little ground meat to the sauce so the dish itself was unimpressive. He liked how soft the gnocchi was in comparison to store bought. I was recommended the chicken pasta. This has good serving size and meat. It was flavorful but still plain overall and the noodles was hard. By the time we had the bruschetta appetizer in the end, we had spent close to 2 hours, most of it waiting for food to be served. It would have been good to be told how long we were expected to wait. If we were told 2h from order to food on the table, we would've left and better spent our time elsewhere. Considering serving size, presentation and meal quality, pricing, and waiting time, we would not recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. Everything just doesn't add up to a pleasant dining experience. For the same spending, we had exceptional food and service at Brownstone, Cordo, and Underbelly, etc.

This is a very Italian restaurant. Environment is very nice, plus foods are the best. The prawn spaghetti is very yummy with the italian sauce, with the size of the prawn is bigger than normal restaurant. The pizza is huge as we ordered, and the crust and the fillings are delicious as well! This absolutely recommended to our friends for another time!
