Sometimes you find a gem in the most unlikely places. This one is found on the square in Auburn, KY. The menu is limited, but the food is good. The owner is also the chef, waitress and hostess. When she handed us the hand-written menu of the day on a steno pad we knew we were somewhere where the chef/owner cared enough about the food to keep the menu current on a daily basis. The restaurant is nicely decorated with homey touches. The flatware matches and the napkins are both cloth and paper. I had a house salad as one of my sides and it was fresh and looked freshly chopped - no prepackaged salad.

Food was excellent all around: peach ribs, corn on the cob, green beans, baked beans, potato salad, fries, and cornbread pancakes. Considering the price, the sides were small, our only complaint. We had the dining room to ourselves most of the time and there was only one woman working, who served us, and who had also cooked everything. Presentation could be improved, but overall the service friendly and personable, and the food was delicious.

Since the new owner ship change in Feb 2023 we have enjoyed this place. Some days it is busy but the staff is always friendly. The food is made to order and fresh so sometimes there maybe a wait on some items and I personally appreciate that more then having something half cooked days before and when I order it having it out in 10min with a not so fresh test. I would be glad to wait 15-30 min for a good fresh meal. Lunch and dinner options are fairly priced with several meat options and a variety of sides.

Overpriced and bad quality food. The service also needs work. We've been here twice, and both times they have gotten our orders wrong. I couldn't even compare it to cafeteria food. Cafeteria food is better. The bread on the sandwich was smashed in and looked old, meat looked undercooked and oddly colored. Fries did not have seasoning and tasted bad. We also ordered a breakfast platter but the bacon was extremely burnt. Even the waitress agreed and went back to ask for fresh. Which the cook/owner? Was grumpy about. Then they got the eggs wrong, and hashbrowns. We gave them another chance because they asked, promising it isn't usually cooked so bad. So we came back a month later. However, same scenario, lackluster service, wrong order, and grumpy when you ask for the correct order. I say, avoid this place. 👎 For the prices they ask for, the food needs to show it.

It was awful. We had to wait 35 minutes for our food and there were only two other tables there. Ordered cheeseburger and onion rings. Cheeseburger was frozen onion rings were not good. Staff was rude. If I had anything positive to say I would. I have no idea how this place stays in business. First and last time here.

My parents told me about this place and we've visited sol Aztecas in bowling green and had been let down tremendously but the one located here in Auburn was amazing! They were very busy when we visited had issues finding a parking spot! But all in all service was amazing, food was even better!!! Will definitely be going back again and again and again!!!!! Definitely worth the money and time! UPDATE: Still Amazing place to eat! Got a little something different this time just to be able to judge them on more than one item of food but MMMMMM they definitely delivered on taste!

Compared to other Mexican restaurants, I believe the salsa here is a better choice. Smooth blend, no heavy onions or tomatoes, and right amount of spice. As for the food, overall quality was superb. I opted for a simple chicken/rice combo. The chicken was cooked correctly, and the portion size was adequate to be full, and not overeat.

This restaurant has gone to hell. I spent over $30 and didn't receive half my order and my food was spilled out all in the bag. I called and they didn't offer me a refund. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I was on my wat back from TN to Louisville and Google places to eat and took a 5min detour to try a local place. It's a very large restaurant and they have ash trays on each table which scared me but it's so big you did not smell any smoke and out of the 30 people in there no one was smoking. This is your true country foor restaurant with a hometown feeling. I had the catfish and potatoes and beans and loved every bit of them.
