There's a reason this place is famous! This is a one stop shop with AMAZING food, nice gift shop, games, a guitarist serenading you while you eat, fun and friendly staff, unique and fun places to stay, and a bunch of photo opportunities! The steaks are THE VERY BEST, tender, flavorful, melt in your mouth perfection at a reasonable price. The whole experience is amazing and fun for all ages! They even have a dog run that's adorable! Our fur baby loved it. 💙 Our waitress, Lexie, was so sweet and looked so adorable! She really made our meal so nice. We felt like we were at home talking with an old friend. Every staff member we met was so friendly and welcoming. We even got to sample a piece of fudge of our choice for free. It was yummy! You really have to stop in if you're in the area. You will be so happy you did! Oh, and they even have a horse hotel, so your horses will be well accommodated, too! 🤗

This was my second visit to The Big Texan. Unlike my first visit, I didn't eat the grilled pepper at the start of my meal, which had numbed my sense of taste. So this time I got to really taste my steak. And it was good. Not outstanding, but a solid good. It was reasonably priced for the size, and grilled as I ordered it. Alas, my sirloin was slightly bland, but a little butter and a dash of salt and sprinkle of pepper fixed that up nicely. My wife enjoyed her chicken fried chicken. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The atmosphere is awesome. If only we hadn't arrived right after a tour bus unloaded...

Wonderful stop over and great food! Famous for it's If You Eat A 72 oz Steak In One Hour It's Free. That's over 5lbs of beef plus fixings. During my visit a man took the challenge but failed. Adds to the excitement. Out server Christine was really good, knowledgeable and on top of things. Good was really really good. This place also has a separate bar, kids area and gift shop. In the dining room there was a strolling guitar player/singer was was great. Yep. 5 stars up and down the board.

Nice place to go and feel the real cowboy spirit. The ambient is so rustic and authentic. The food is a must try. The portions are huge, be careful when you order. I highly recommend the fried mushrooms and the soft buns with butter. Also the inside shop has many beautiful souvenirs.

The Big Texan is an experience. We visited this establishment on our way through Texas and it was more of an experience then we anticipated. Know that this place gets VERY busy with a 30min wait being short. Do not let this deter you, there is so much more. While you wait visit the ample gift shop or check out the amazing and unique bar area. Or, check out the games. There is an old school shooting range and plenty of other games that will take you back to your childhood or introduce them to your kids. They have many beautiful and well maintained games from the past. Seating is ample with floor and second level seating. In the center north center is the grill and an elevated table of those individuals attempting to take on the 72oz steak challenge, which is a spectacle on its own. The food is as expected, Big Like Texas. Do not order the full order of fried mushrooms unless you have a BIG group! Food is good, reasonably priced and unique in it's own right. I highly recommend trying this establishment out for the amazing experience and good food.

A few weeks ago, I came to eat here with my fiancé and future in laws for brunch. I liked that the restaurant was not too busy and very calming. First of all, the service from wait staff was quite excellent. Our server was very understanding, cordial and patient with us and deserved a generous tip. The food was absolutely delicious. I know that for right now, Amarillo doesn’t have the different unique restaurants as does Lubbock for pretty much every category, but having a place like Cask and Cork really does Amarillo a solid. Something other than the usual IHOP, Waffle House or even Jimmy’s Egg. I personally had the Country Benedict. Cooked very well and outstanding in presentation. Along with that I was able to eat some of the French toast which was also delicious. All around the table, I don’t think one bad thing was said about any of the food or drinks that we had. The coffee was tasteful and not bland like in other places, and the mimosas were mixed well. Overall, I do recommend this place as a good place for brunch or breakfast if you’re looking for something on Sunday after church or throughout the week.

Just made a random stop at Amarillo, and it was the best decision ever! It’s so hard to find in this area a really good bar with quality delicious drinks, but that was it! Bar menu, cocktail menu, food, service, atmosphere - everything is on top ❤️ Highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back 👍

Attended the Simi 5 wine taster and 5 course dinner. It was a very fun and pleasant experience. Great staff amazing food wonderful wine. Update: Brought my in-laws here and had another amazing experience. The food was perfect for me, and even when my husband and his mothers linguini noodles were over done, a separate order was brought perfectly cooked. Drinks were spot on, and if they weren't perfect the 1st time they soon were. Thank you Eddie, and staff for always being friendly and hospitable.

We drove all the way from California on a very long road trip, this restaurant was recommended to us by a few locals and we were not disappointed! Everyone that works here was so polite. Best customer service we’ve had in a long time! The food was amazing, I highly recommend the street corn dip. We sat on the roof, they had really cute lights, the atmosphere was amazing and so was our waiter! Highly highly recommend

Tonight was the third time eating here and it was fantastic! We had the prime rip tonight and while it's a solid steak I wish I would or ordered the scallops. Their scallops are the best thing I have had since moving to Amarillo! As good as the scallops are the service was even better. The hostess(sorry I didnt get her name) was super friendly and went out of her way to find a menu for tonight's special whiskey dinner that we did not know about. We will definitely be attending the next one. We got seated at the bar and Jeff took care of us while we waited for our table. Jeff was also amazing and even after we were sat at our table he checked in on us to make sure we were doing good. Our waitress was also very friendly. I just cant say enough about the staff there. Since I am a bourbon lover I had to post a picture of the bourbon menu. Not enough places post there spirits menus and I just had to share what they have(amazing selection btw).

My wife and I ate here for my birthday to try another fine dining restaurant in the city. We had been looking at this place for a while but never actually came in to try it. Now that we have, I can say it was well worth it. I had the Elk Tenderloin with a couple of cocktails and my wife had the steak with also a couple of drinks. To start we ate the Armadillo Eggs (weird name I know) which was quite delicious. I was fairly surprised that the Elk Tenderloin was not too gamey. Cooked at medium rare, it was a good dish to try and am glad I tried it. The drinks were also mixed well. Not too strong or watered down. In addition, the waitress that we had was very friendly and attentive to our table the whole time there. I applaud this restaurant for providing something different here in Amarillo and serving the customer with the utmost respect. I definitely recommend anyone who’s looking for a nice quiet place where they can have intimate conversation to eat at the public house.

Went here for lunch with my wife and adult kids. We started with the seared tuna Tataki. Amazing loved it. The Wasabi was more sweet than heat. I really liked it. My wife got the lamb chops appetizer as her meal with a cup of prime rib and mushroom soup. I am not a fan of lamb. She said it was great it had a vanilla porter jelly. It's very tasty. I tried her soup. I will definitely be back when it gets colder for the soup. I had the potato soup and meatloaf sandwich. Loved the soup again, and I am not a soup guy. The meatloaf is unique it has beef pork and duck on texas toast with bbq sauce.. It was good but not quite my taste. It's still good, though I ate the whole thing. My son had a BLT with added avocado and fried egg on Texas toast. He said he would definitely do it again. My daughter had the Public House Mac and Cheese with 3 cheeses, and she added crab. The Mac was good, but with the crab added, it reminded me of tuna helper. I like tuna helper, though . LOL. My daughter's boyfriend had a Angus burger it was huge, and he ate the whole thing. He normally does not usually finish his meal. We will definitely be back. There are quite a few things on the menu we would like to try.

We loved our dinner here! Socks was our server and she was excellent! She made great recommendations. Whatever you do, get the lamb chop lollipops - trust me! The flavor with the seasonings and the sauce is amazing! I had the angus filet and it was done perfectly. My husband had the slider sampler. The crab cake was amazing too. The ambiance was great. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Amarillo!

UPDATE: We were just there a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary, and everything was divine. I went back again today, 9-18-2023, for some more Fair Fare. I started with a normal menu item, the Southwest Crispy Chicken Wrap, which was fantastic. And then finished with another funnel cake, even better than last year's, I'd say. Who needs the Midway when you can get better quality fair food here?! Original review: We visited during the Tri-State fair week, so Public House had Fair Fare. It was incredible. This corn dog has ruined all other corn dogs from here on out. The Cajun seasoning on the Tornado fries was incredible. The Street Corn was unexpectedly good, and I LOVE corn (it has the juice). We finished it off with the funnel cake with powdered sugar and their raspberry habanero sauce, and it was [chef's kiss] perfection. Love it. Fair fare ends tomorrow, so get it while you can!

I absolutely love this upscale restaurant. The lights, the bar, the staff and the food are terrific. Public House serves some of the best dishes around Amarillo. The atmosphere is great with dim lighting. Sox was my waitress, and she was absolutely the best. Very friendly and outgoing. The ragoons are a must try. In fairness, all of the food is top-notch and delicious.

Popped in here for a sneaky cocktail and are so glad we did. Such a gorgeous speakeasy, beautifully decorated and super engaging staff. However, the cocktails here steal the show. We ordered the Corpse Reviver and The Tracy - both were amazing, super punchy and very well balanced. Special thank you to Paige and James for looking after us :)

I didn't originally write anything with my review but the owner reached out and asked for more details because they were switching owners when I went there. The reason for the 2 stars is for a few reasons. One the waitress was an older woman who kept trying to recite the specials and menu by heart but kept messing them up and confusing us. She was nice but also kept coming up and making conversation through the whole dinner , nothing weird but me and my girl were on a date and didn't feel like talking to this waitress the whole time and she didn't get the hint. We got some drinks that i don't remember too well, I remember them being good but not great, also most of them were gin based if I recall which wasn't really to my taste. We got the calamari as an appetizer but it was very undercooked I didn't think it was too bad at first however it made both me and the person I was with feel queasy and I threw up a while after we got home, it was the only thing we both ate so we knew it was that. One of us ordered the Alfredo special cause the waitress kept saying it was delicious and homemade pasta but it tasted like sauce from a jar and the pasta was nothing special, we threw most of it out. I had a steak which was very delicious but the portion was extremely small for the price. Especially when there's 2 other steakhouses in the area serving bigger portions with similar quality and price. This was a few months ago now so there may have been some other things to mention I'm not remembering. The only reason this was not a one star was because of the decor and I thought the steak and sides were good, in hindsight it probably did deserve a 1 star since i got sick overall I don't have much desire to go back.

My brother and I went for lunch today and had their special which was meatballs with spaghetti and some amazing toasty bread with pesto and Parmesan cheese on it. The food was amazing. This is my third time to eat there and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is fabulous. Our server Josh was great!

The ribs were soft but the rub used is too strong and I just didn't like the taste, it was just over spiced. The salads were nice, so was the potato soup, and the steak was perfect. All in all pretty good but bit on the expensive side. And I really didn't like the taste of the ribs. I would have given 3 stars but the staff were excellent which bumps the rating to 4.

We felt like we had entered another dimension. Not only was the food good but each person we interacted with was very nice and attentive, they made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. It was an awesome experience. I will never forget. I gave them a huge tip just because it was just outstanding service all the way around!

Sarah was a fantastic waitress and the kitchen accommodated my husband and I splitting a rack of ribs meal by bringing two plates and splitting a regular salad into two bowls for us. It was perfect because we were driving on a loooooong road trip and a whole meal would have been far too much for each of us to finish but this way we still got to enjoy their ribs without wasting anything! Highly highly recommend! Sarah even brought out a carafe of water for for pups on the patio so they're wonderfully pet friendly!

We absolutely loved our dinner at OHMS. We were visiting Amarillo for a couple of days and staying at the Barfield downtown. I researched dinner spots and this place seemed to be the best choice. It was exactly the right choice. I called about two weeks ahead and was able to get reservations at the time we wanted. We started with cocktails. They were both good but the bourbon old fashioned was better than the gin cocktail. And the old fashioned here was better than a similar drink at the Paramount Recreation Club next door, the Speakeasy in the basement of the Barfield that you gain entry by "buying" Paramount cigarettes from an antique machine (suddenly the door behind you opens and voila you're in). Back to the main story... For appetizer we shared a special of the night, the crab cakes. They were perfectly seared and they were bursting with crabmeat. Spiced just right. And the accompanying sauce, we wanted to lick the plate clean. They were really good. For the mains, one of us had Elk and the other had Chicken. The Elk, recommended medium rare, was oh so tender and moist. The local mushrooms that accompanied were worthy of their own dish. The risotto at the bottom was also good. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show a dish as delicious as it was. We were surprised a little that the Elk wasn't more gamey tasting. It's not a bad thing, just was a surprise. The chicken was also outstanding. Crunchy and moist. The asparagus was firm but tender, and the mashed potatoes were excellent. I must say it could have used a little more gravy as all that gravy was gone a bit before the chicken was. But then i am a sauce guy. No room for dessert. Would love to visit for dinner again!

Lovely, relaxed bar/ restaurant. Friendly staff team. The elk tenderloin was out of this world, honestly incredible, the risotto underneath was stupidly good and the veg was al dente to perfection, the perfect crunch. Couldn’t recommend more.

O.H.M.S. is an upscale yet unpretentious spot for American dishes and some ethnic-inspired fare. On our last visit we didn't make a reservation on a Friday night and were told it'd be a two-hour wait for walk-ins. However, we were told the bar offers the full menu and then found a seat immediately. Despite being a busy weekend night we had great service at the bar. I ordered the Beef Filet au Poivre and my partner got the Merluza Fillet. We split the Fried Egg Salad as an appetizer and finished with a Crème Brulee. The egg salad really stood out to me, and my steak was cooked perfectly. Our bartender Jake recommended a merlot that paired great with the beef. Great experience overall. O.H.M.S. is a great spot for date night, special occasions, or just because. I'd encourage reservations if you need a more intimate experience, but the bar was great for us.

My wife and I were excited to try this place after one of my best friends from Amarillo suggested it. I am sorry to say that we were thoroughly disappointed. It has been two hours since we finished dinner, and I am still unable to remove the salt taste from my mouth. We ordered broccolini tempura as an appetizer, at the recommendation of our waiter. It was cooked perfectly, but the sauce just tasted like salt (and we are not afraid of salt generous in our cooking), but this was terrible and inedible. Then we waited 50 minutes for the entrée to come out. We ordered the pork chop and macaroni— the pork chop was like rubber and the macaroni had no taste. When the bill came, I politely mentioned my feedback with the waiter. He was apologetic and said he would get a manger. Several minutes later the pastry chef came over and told me “the manager was too busy and that 30 people had ordered the broccolini tonight without issue.” I’ve eaten at a lot a great restaurants all over the world and this is definitely not one of them. I’m mostly just confused how this place has such high ratings? If you appreciate good food and service, this is not your place.

My coworker and I decided to have dinner at OHMS and made a last minute reservation for 6pm. We were able to get a table and were impressed with the menu. We split the Tuna Tartare (forgot to take a pic) and it was delicious. The tuna was fresh and tasted phenomenal with the sauce and fresh greens. I ordered the grilled ribeye and it came with broccoli and baked Mac and cheese. The steak was delicious but a little more fatty than a regular ribeye. The butter that was topped over the steak was absolutely delicious and paired well with the steak. I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Amarillo.

Service was good, and I got served quickly. The server was very nice and courteous. The atmosphere was good, except for the A/C was a bit too high. I know it's hot outside, but it was cold inside. 🥶 Now the food is another story. Don't get me wrong, but the cook used a lot of salt (season) on everything. The gravy was very salty (Both white and brown, yes, both were ordered). The steak was also very salty. It looked good but was salty. So the food looked good, but looks can be deceiving.

100% EXCELLENT! The food was amazing! I recommend the Decadent Salmon! Our waiter, Wyatt, was one of the best I have ever had! My mother was so impressed over the whole experience. I will definitely be back!!

The Monte Cristo was what one would expect. Generous portion of ham and turkey with American cheese and i think Swiss also. Tasty Crispy fries. Potato skins had the perfect amount of potato, cheese and bacon. A nice size as well. Serve was nice professional but was slow to get drinks and appetizers. Seemed he may had too many tables perhaps. The restaurant was too loud.
